Hot on the heels of the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak release earlier today, Seas0nPass has been updated to bring support for the second generation Apple TV iOS 5.0.1 (iOS 5.1.1).
This release brings the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak to the Apple TV 2, which up until now could only support a tethered jailbreak. Thanks to the hard work of pod2g and others, we now have a true untethered jailbreak available for the Apple TV’s latest firmware…
Unfortunately, this version of Seas0nPass does not bring support for the 3rd generation Apple TV. It is our understanding that our favorite iOS hackers are currently working hard on it, but it’s just not possible at this time. We’ll make sure to keep you updated when there is a jailbreak for the newer Apple TV model.
For step by step directions on how to use Seas0nPass to jailbreak your Apple TV 2, I suggest you refer to our previous Seas0nPass tutorial. It is not completely up to date, but the steps are the same.
