Even with the death of the mastermind behind Apple, former CEO and found Steve Jobs, 2011 has been an incredible year for Apple.

Apple has broken record sales, launched several new products and services, such as iCloud, Siri, OS X Lion, iPad 2, and the iPhone 4S. All this success comes with the help of Apple’s dedicated employees.

According to MacGeneration, in recognition of all this success, Apple CEO Tim Cook has sent out an email to Apple corporate employees telling them to take all of Thanksgiving week off, with pay…

I consider it an honor to come to work every day alongside the most innovative and most dedicated people on earth. This is an extraordinary time to be at Apple, and it’s all made possible by your incredible efforts.

We’ve had a record-setting year so far and we’re heading into the holidays with the strongest product lineup in our history. Customers are absolutely in love with the iPad 2, and the amazing new iPhone 4S is off to the best start of any iPhone we’ve ever made. The Mac is soaring to new heights with OS X Lion, and on the eve of its 10th birthday, the iPod is still the world’s most popular music player.

In recognition of the hard work you’ve put in this year, we’re going to take some extra time off for Thanksgiving. We will shut down with pay on November 21, 22 and 23 so our teams can spend the entire week with their families and friends.

Of course, Retail and some other groups will need to work that week so we can continue to serve our customers. If you’re in one of these groups, please check with your manager about taking time off at a later date. Our international teams will schedule their three-day shutdowns this quarter at a time that’s best for them. Details will be available on AppleWeb.

I hope everyone enjoys this much deserved break.

Nice way to reward Apple employees, Tim!

Steve jobs just rolled over in his grave

    • I, too, wonder if this would be the case if Jobs was still alive. Would he have shut down with pay for Thanksgiving? Perhaps this would have been (or might be, if Steve ordered this before stepping down as CEO) Steve’s way of thanking his staff for the last few years of explosive success. Or he might not have for the purpose of serving customers best during Thanksgiving week. If so, it’s likely Cook’s idea. Regardless of who came up with this, though, I give Apple props for rewarding their employees for Apple’s amazing success, especially during a period of time that sees companies cutting bonuses and perks, and employees, to save money and, in some cases, stay alive.

Guys, I’m a gevey sim user and just upgraded to iOS5 with a baseband preserved at 4.10.01 and now i’m stuck on the activation menu because i don’t have a valid att sim card. I guess i made a mess here since i didn’t save the SHSH blob so there is no way to downgrade back, anyone can help me here please? I just heard that as long as i preserved the baseband and jailbreak iOS 5 i should be able to unlock, but now what i’m gonna do? I’m so desperate.

    • Ibrahim Sait

I guess u need to hacktivate the device using sn0wbreeze.

    • Eddie

Cydia may have your blobs saved for 4.3.3 or 4.2.1 Use tinyumbrella to check if it has them and you can downgrade that way. I’m not sure how that will effect your baseband so you might want to find a good guide or someone else w knowledge.

If cydia doesn’t have your blobs. I’m under the impression that ih8sn0w’s iFaith tool can create blobs for past version. I have no first hand experience because I do not rely on unlock and never needed to downgrade but these are options to look into

    • You need to hackativate the device with snowbreeze. I’m going to re-jailbreak my iPhone until I can get ahold of the factory unlocked iPhone 4S

I used sn0wbreez for custom file. Upgraded to iOS 5 figuring Gevey sim would work on BB 4.10.01 but sorry to say it won’t work. Anyway I’ve got 4.3.3 to go back. 🙂 peace

Just watch a clip for Gevey sim users to use iOS5.
