I find myself using my iPhone’s Clock app, with its included timer and stopwatch, for all sorts of arbitrary reasons.

It’s a really handy thing to have, but it would even better if you didn’t have to launch the Clock app every time, just to access the time keeping functions.

Enter TimerBar, a jailbreak tweak that allows you to invoke your timer from anywhere by means of Activator. Full video walkthrough, inside…

Upon invoking the tweak, the TimerBar appears at the top of your iPhone, residing where the status bar normally does. It will remain there until you dismiss it, which makes it wonderful for avid multitaskers.

Navigating to TimerBar’s settings panel reveals custom skins, Activator action methods, and the ability to alter your “time up” tones.

If you’re someone who really likes to keep track of time, then TimerBar can be a great help; it’s landscape mode compatible, uses familiar Activator actions, and it’s relatively cheap at $0.99.

If you’ve tried out TimerBar, let us know what you think in the comments below.

I think this is good ..but like you have said it uses activator…why not just set up activator to open the cloak app when in a app/anywhere ?

    • Binary-Stalker

Because that is inconvenient when playing games or the such.

      • Burge

But it uses activator any way ..so why not use activator to link straight to the clock app instead ?

Is that google music icon the beta app or is it just a link to the safari version?

IDB I love your blog dearly and am not one to moan, but please get this double posting glitch sorted out. Reading the same post six times because an error pops up when posting is tiresom. I am willing to bet it happens to me now……….

    • Not sure what error you’re talking about. Can you please be more specific?

      • XepptizZ

Quite often on the iphone it wilk say the posting failed, but “DUM DUM DUM!” it didn’t and we end up double posting. Personally it doesn’t feel like a huge issue, but it’s there.

I agree with him, happens to me all the time when posting on my iPhone. I love iDB, but hate this comment system 🙁

I know, I know, you guys have been shopping around for alternatives for forever now…

It has happened to me a few times and it does seem to only do it when using the iPhone.

Hi Sebastien. Like a few others have said, the error only seems to happen when posting from my iPhone. You hit send and it the the message window goes yellow with advise to try posting again as the message failed. In reality it hasn’t, hence the regular double or more posts from readers.

Error that time….. I have taken a screen shot. Would you like me to email the pic. If so where should I send it?

      • I know what error you’re talking about.

      • I tweaked some stuff on the site, which might fix the commenting issue. Cross your fingers

  • Spencer

How typical… It worked ok just then 🙂

  • Jamie

    Google app icon?
Is it just me that sees this?

    • Jamie

      Of couse it didn’t …

    • Spencer

Hi Jamie, if you watch Ask Jeff episode 7 on the iDB YouTube channel I think Jeff answers this. I think he states that its an Icon link to the web app in Safari.

  • Jamie

I just got the fail post but yet it posted… I’ll screen shot if it does this again now…

This is exactly the thing I have been looking for. Although when the iPod goes to sleep the timer stops until you “wake it up” and it resumes where the timer was the moment it went to sleep. Is there a way to keep the timer going while the iPod is in sleep mode?
