4 days after AT&T slashed the price of the iPhone 3GS, it’s now Apple who’s discounting the previous iPhone model to the same $49 price tag. I think this move isn’t so much related to the Verizon iPhone being announced tomorrow, but rather to getting rid off their old inventory.

If you don’t care about owning the latest and bestest, then the iPhone 3GS at $49 is a hell of a deal. If like me you do like to get the latest gadget, you may want to wait until June/July, when the iPhone 5 will be released…

Oh yeah, and this cheap baby comes with a 2-year ball and chain contract with AT&T. You ready for that?

  • Or just wait till the summer when iPhone 5 comes out and pick up a iPhone 4 for about $100 – that’s what they tend to do with the previous models.

Damm your operators sell phones CHEAP :O
I paid 679€ = $879 month ago for new factory unlocked iPhone 4 32Gb (no strings attached).

Here is also one carrier that sell iPhone locked, but it is not much cheaper (like 20€-40€ cheaper).
But we have cheapest mobilecalls/SMS/dataplans in world 🙂

    *of *best

Your paying for something better to be honest. In NY, a 32 gig is 756, no contract and isn’t unlocked.

Damn I feel much more outdated now that it’s only 49 bucks. I guess I’ll just wait for the iPhone 5 or the iPhone 4GS to upgrade my phone and plan. The 3GS is a great phone. For anyone that doesnt have one yet.

Honestly people, I doubt there will be an iPhone 5.
It’s probably just going to be the same model/design…
With the only difference being the antenna issue, maybe battery life, and perhaps…
Simple New features. I really don’t think there will be much of a change. Don’t get your hopes up.
