New PDF Exploit Uncovered By Comex in iOS, Return of JailbreakMe?

We're calling it, folks: famed jailbreak hacker, Comex, has uncovered another PDF exploit in iOS that will allow for a userland jailbreak, ala JailbreakMe.

This is based off the above teaser image, which Comex just announced on his Twitter and is available for viewing on jailbreakme.com. If our detective work is correct, we expect a new, untethered, userland jailbreak for iOS.

Gevey SIM Will Unlock iPhone 4 on iOS 5

Following the news that RedSn0w will jailbreak iOS 5, an unlock solution for the iPhone 4 on iOS 5 has also been uncovered. The Gevey SIM is a TurboSIM-like piggy back SIM card that will unlock iPhone 4 basebands.

On iOS 5, it appears that the Gevey SIM will still unlock the iPhone 4. Be warned: the Gevey SIM is technically illegal, so we do not recommend this method for unlocking the iPhone 4 on iOS 5.

iOS 5 Beta 1 Tethered Jailbreak Now Available

RedSn0w, the popular jailbreak tool by the Dev Team, has been updated with support for a tethered jailbreak on the iOS 5 developer beta. It's been less than a week since Apple got iOS 5 Beta 1 into the hands of developers at WWDC and across the world, and a tethered jailbreak is already available.

The news was announced by Dev Team frontman, MuscleNerd, and version 0.9.8.b1 of RedSn0w is now available to download for those with access to the iOS 5 beta. To get the iOS 5 beta legally, you must have a registered developer account with Apple.

SlideAway Jailbreak Tweak Will Enhance Your iPhone’s Lockscreen

The lockscreen has always been an interesting area of the iPhone's interface for jailbreak devs to experiment with. You've got LockInfo, AndroidLock, awesome themed lockscreens, and weirder experiments like RecognizeMe that are all available in Cydia.

The newest addition to the lockscreen enhancement category looks to be SlideAway by popular jailbreak developer, Filippo Bigarella. Everything You Need to Know About iOS 4.3.3 Jailbreak

Apple released iOS 4.3.3 (4.2.8 for Verizon iPhones) last Wednesday, less than three weeks after the previous software update. The new firmware included a fix for the location tracking file that Apple has gotten into so much water over (is that considered Cider?).

Chances are, most of you didn't consider 4.3.3 big enough to update from 4.3.2. But with the Verizon iPad 2 problem fixed and the infamous tracking bug patched, we may not see another update until iOS 5 is released. If that's the case, then this will likely be the last jailbreak for several months, so why not update?

How to Unlock your iPhone 4.3.3 with UltraSn0w

Thanks to the hard work of the iPhone Dev Team, the UltraSn0w unlock for iPhone has been updated to play well with iOS 4.3.3. As mentioned in our previous post about UltraSn0w, this will only work with iPhone 4 baseband 1.59.00, and iPhone 3G/3GS basebands 4.26.08, 5.11.07, 5.12.01, 5.13.04, and 6.15.00.

If your baseband is different from these, then you can't unlock for the time being. If your baseband matches one of those above but you are on an older firmware, use PwnageTool to update while preserving the baseband.

In this tutorial, we will show you how to unlock your iPhone 4.3.3 using UltraSn0w...

iOS 4.3.3 is Out – What Now?

Apple just released iOS 4.3.3 and as usual when a new firmware is out, we try to make sure we warn you about the potential risks. Experienced iPhone users might want to skip this post, but if you're new to the iPhone and especially jailbreaking, read on.

If your iPhone is jailbroken/unlocked, the first thing to do is to make sure you do not update to iOS 4.3.3. Updating will supercede your jailbreak, rendering it useless. As always when Apple releases an update to the software, make sure you hold on until new jailbreak/unlock is available...

The State of the iOS 4.3.2 Jailbreak

There are now several ways to jailbreak your iPhone running iOS 4.3.2. RedSn0w, PwnageTool, and Sn0wBreeze will all jailbreak the iPhone on 4.3.2.

4.3.2 hasn't been out for that long, but i0n1c's untethered exploit has already been implemented into three of the most popular jailbreak tools.
