Jailbreak Dream Team to present at Hack In The Box conference in May

The Dream Team, consisting of p0sixninja, MuscleNerd, planetbeing, and pod2g, were the key developers among others who worked to release the A5 'Absinthe' jailbreak last month. All of these developers work hard to find exploits in Apple's devices to give us the necessary goods.

i0n1c gives advice to prepare for iOS 5.1 jailbreak, or does he really?

iOS hacker i0n1c came out of a long period of silence to tweet about a future iOS 5.1 jailbreak and a piece of advice to get ready for it.

According to a rather sarcastic tweet sent a few hours ago, i0n1c recommends everybody downloads KakaoTalk Messenger, a free application in the App Store that apparently hides some mysterious features, namely an exploitable vulnerability that can be used for an iOS 5.1 jailbreak...

Jailbreak apps leak less private user data than App Store apps

The recent Path scandal has once again put user privacy at the forefront of mobile news. The social network was caught secretly uploading entire address books from its users' cell phones without their authorization.

This has prompted further research into other App Store apps, and yes even jailbreak ones, to see how many other developers are guilty of these actions. And what folks are finding is, jailbreak apps actually leak much less private data than Apple-approved ones...

New JailbreakCon website now online

Last Summer marked the world's first ever jailbreak convention, MyGreatFest. Taking place in London, UK, the conference allowed hackers, developers, and fans to hang out and talk about one of their common passions — jailbreaking.

With appearances from the Chronic Dev Team, Saurik and other notable speakers, the first conference was a resounding success. And now under its new name, JailbreakCon, the team is looking to build on that success with a USA-based event...

AirBlue Sharing: a new jailbreak app that lets you share files over Bluetooth

The ability to transfer files from iOS to other devices via Bluetooth is a glaring omission from Apple's mobile products. The jailbreak community has made up for that a bit, with utilities like Celeste. But options are still limited.

That's why we were excited to see AirBlue Sharing pop up in Cydia over the weekend. The full-featured app allows you to share files from your iOS 5 device, with almost any other Bluetooth-enabled device, with just a few taps...

Access iOS 5’s Notification Center from your Lock Screen with Bulletin

One of my favorite features about IntelliscreenX is the fact that you can access your notification center from your lock screen. I don't use the popular tweak anymore, it was too much for me. And that's really the only element I miss.

Since I dropped Intelliscreenx, I've been looking for a developer to come up with a standalone jailbreak tweak to enable lock screen notification center access. And finally, it's here. Introducing Bulletin...

Customize your iDevice’s Slide to Unlock bar with SlideToMod

TweetLine: use Siri to pull up tweets from your Twitter timeline

When iOS 5 launched last Fall, we figured that the Notification Center would become the new hot bed for jailbreak tweaks. But it seems like Siri has also become a popular choice among developers.

The latest package to surface in Cydia that adds functionality to the digital assistant is TweetLine. The tweak allows you to use Siri to call up the 5 most recent tweets from your Twitter timeline...
