Jailbreak Apps & Tweaks

These are the latest jailbreak apps and tweaks available for your iPhone or iPad. We save you time by highlighting only the best tweaks.

LittleXS ports modern iOS features to non-notched handsets

If you’re an iPhone X, XR, XS, or XS Max owner coming from any older iOS handset without a notch, then you’ve undoubtedly experienced a learning curve while adjusting to the differences between said devices. But what if you could make your older iOS handset more like your shiny new notched iOS handset? Seems far-fetched, right?

If you’re jailbroken, then perhaps not. With a new free jailbreak tweak called LittleXS by iOS developers Ryan Nair and binksalex, you can experience many of the notch-esque features on non-notched iOS handsets.

Jailbreak tweaks of the week: DNDAllow, InstaLauncher, ReachIt, VideoSwipes, and more

If you have a jailbroken iOS 11 or iOS 12 device in your possession and you're wondering what you should install on it to make it better, then you've come to the right place.

In this roundup, we’ll summarize each of this week’s new jailbreak tweak releases from Monday, April 22nd to Sunday, April 28th. As usual, we’ll kick things off by discussing our favorites and then outline the rest afterward.

NotifyWiFi X notifies you when your handset jumps to a new Wi-Fi network

It’s normal for your iPhone or iPad to automatically bounce from one Wi-Fi network to another as you migrate from one location to the next, and sometimes that involves unsecured public Wi-Fi networks. With that in mind, wouldn’t it be nice if iOS notified you whenever it connects to a new Wi-Fi network?

If you’re thinking along the same lines that I am, then you might take a liking to a newly-released jailbreak tweak dubbed NotifyWiFi X by iOS developer ichitaso. Much like the name implies, NotifyWiFi X promises to let you know whenever your handset connects to a different Wi-Fi network, and it even provides a plethora of options beyond that.

This tweak can customize Notification Center’s ‘No Older Notifications’ text

Apple designed iOS’ Notification Center to display the text string ‘No Older Notifications’ if you don’t have any pending notifications that you haven’t already acknowledged. But isn’t it obvious enough that you don’t have any older notifications if Notification Center isn’t displaying any?

Given the apparent redundancy on Apple’s part, iOS developer YaYPIXXO has released a new free jailbreak tweak called CustomNoOlderNotifications that lets users modify Notification Center’s ‘No Older Notifications’ text string to display anything they want.

Pwn20wnd confirmed to be working on Substitute for A12(X) devices with unc0ver

Just last week, Saurik advised the jailbreak community not to hold its breath for an A12(X)-compatible Cydia Substrate, but that doesn’t mean that team unc0ver won’t release a full A12(X)-compatible jailbreak; in fact, the contrary appears to be true.

In the absence of Cydia Substrate on A12(X) platforms and with little or no indication that it’ll ever be updated to support them, hacker and unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd embarked on a new challenge – one that involves implementing an improved Substitute for A12(X) handsets specifically while continuing to use Cydia Substrate for tweak injection on pre-A12(X) devices.

AutoInvert automatically toggles Smart Invert based on your display brightness level

A hidden accessibility feature on your iPhone called Smart Invert lets you enjoy a Dark Mode-like experience on your handset on demand, but you still need to invoke it manually if you wish to use it.

With that in mind, iOS developer Cole Cabral has just released a new jailbreak tweak in Cydia called AutoInvert that automatically facilitates your handset’s Smart Invert feature based on your current display brightness level.

VideoSwipes adds swipe gesture controls to iOS’ native video player

The iOS platform sports a gorgeous native video player interface, but as you might come to expect from Apple, those good looks aren’t coupled with the oodles of functionality that you might find on other platforms such as swipe gesture-based controls.

In response to this apparent shortcoming, iOS developer AnthoPak has just released a new free jailbreak tweak in Cydia called VideoSwipes, and just as the name implies, this tweak brings swipe gesture-based controls to iOS’ native video player.

Augment iOS’ native power down interface with ModernPower

Pressing and holding a certain button sequence on your iOS device (the sequence varies depending on the device) invokes the power down menu from which you can easily turn your handset off. Unfortunately, iOS’ native power down menu has an ongoing reputation for being somewhat ‘featureless.’

In an attempt to change that, iOS developer conorthedev released a new free jailbreak tweak called ModernPower, which gives iOS’ native power down menu a modern facelift and supercharges it with additional features that you won’t find out of the box on a stock device.

InstaLauncher helps you launch any app on your device in a jiff

One of my favorite parts about jailbreaking over the years has been installing custom app launchers that make accessing my apps easier. There haven’t been that many tweaks of this nature in recent memory, and that’s why I’m excited to show you the rebirth of a classic jailbreak tweak dubbed InstaLauncher by iOS developer Jonathan Winger-Lang.

InstaLauncher has been around for several years, but it was just recently re-released with full support for the latest Electra and unc0ver jailbreaks encompassing iOS 11 and iOS 12. Those who remember the original tweak should see InstaLauncher for what it is: a tweak that lets you launch any app on your device in a jiff without having to scour multiple Home Screen pages.

PingWatch gives your iPhone a more audible Lost and found tone

Sometimes you misplace your iPhone and it’s merely hiding in between the seat cushions on your couch rather than being lost out in public, and that’s why Apple includes a native feature on your Apple Watch called Lost and found, which forces your iPhone to emit a high-frequency sonar tone so that you can locate it with just your ears.

As cool as this feature is, many have expressed their concerns with the sound, noting that it isn’t loud or noticeable enough. Apple’s response to these concerns? – such is life. But iOS developer Lefteris Karkaletsis wanted to do more, and so he released a new jailbreak tweak called PingWatch to replace the native Lost and found tone with something more audible.

ReachIt puts a Now Playing music interface in the empty Reachability space

Modern iPhones have become so massive that it’s becoming a challenge to operate them one-handed. For this reason, Apple implemented a feature in iOS called Reachability that pulls the contents of your display farther down so you can reach them with your thumb.

On any stock device, the Reachability interface leaves a large gap of unused space at the top of your display, but a new free jailbreak tweak called ReachIt by iOS developer Nepeta makes use of that wasted screen real estate by incorporating a Now Playing music interface into it.

Improve your iPhone’s multitasking capabilities with PullOver Pro

Multitasking is something that the iOS platform has always fallen short on, and that’s precisely why we’re excited to talk to you about a newly-released jailbreak tweak called PullOver Pro by iOS developer c1d3r.

As you might’ve noticed from the screenshot examples above, PullOver Pro is exactly what it sounds like. The tweak adds a small grabber to the side of your display that you can interact with to gain quick access to your favorite or most recently-used apps.
