Your iPhone uses an assortment of cellular and Wi-Fi-based networks to keep you connected to the internet throughout the day, but as you might come to expect, your iPhone uses more battery and data when it stays connected to both.

WiCellSwitcher is a new free jailbreak tweak by iOS developer Bruno Andrade that automatically disables your iPhone’s cellular radio whenever you connect to a Wi-Fi network, and as you might come to expect, it automatically turns the cellular radio back on again after your handset drops its Wi-Fi connection.

Chimera jailbreak updated to v1.0.2 to resolve jailbreaking issues on certain devices

The Electra Team officially released its Chimera jailbreak for iOS 12.0-12.1.2 on Monday and became the first jailbreak team to release a full-fledged jailbreak supporting A12(X) devices. But as you might come to expect, an initial release is almost always followed with updates to help iron out the kinks.

The Electra Team pushed two consecutive updates for the Chimera jailbreak overnight, dubbed versions 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 respectively. Electra Team member nullpixel announced the first update, and the Electra Team announced the second via Twitter:

Modern-day iOS devices come equipped with advanced forms of biometric authentication right out of the box, such as Face ID or Touch ID, but you can still resort to an alphanumeric or numeric passcode if you wanted to.

It might seem counterproductive to do such a thing given just how fast and zippy Face ID and Touch ID have become, but a new jailbreak tweak release called Scribble by iOS developer Boo is sure to make you actually want to use your passcode interface over biometric authentication.

The Home screen’s page dots on the iPhone and iPad have remained mostly unchanged for several generations of iOS. With that in mind, don’t you think it’s time for something new?

If you answered yes to the aforementioned question, then you just might come to appreciate a new jailbreak tweak release called Pagebar by iOS developer Kritanta. This tweak replaces the Home screen’s traditional page dots with a bar that animates dynamically as you move from one page to another.

Sileo Team releases Sileo 1.0 to the public for Chimera and Electra jailbreaks

Many A12(X) device owners who’ve held off on iOS 12.0-12.1.2 are hopping with joy right about now after the release of the Electra Team’s Chimera jailbreak, but one small detail that can be easily overlooked amid this significant news is that the Sileo Team has officially released Sileo 1.0 to the general public.

As you might come to expect from the new version number, Sileo 1.0 is no longer considered a beta, but rather an official release build. The Sileo Team eagerly announced the new version Monday night via Twitter, shortly after the Chimera jailbreak was released:

In addition to the unc0ver jailbreak by Pwn20wnd, iOS 12 users have the option to use the Chimera jailbreak by the CoolStar-led Electra Team.

It’s worth noting that the Chimera jailbreak does not support Cydia or Cydia Substrate, and that it instead uses Sileo and libhooker as a part of its Procursus bootstrap for package management and tweak injection. That aside, it is the first public jailbreak tool to officially support A12(X) devices.

Say hello to Chimera, an entirely new jailbreak tool developed and released by the CoolStar-led Electra Team with native support for all iOS 12.0-12.1.2 devices, including the pesky A12(X) variety.

Ryan Petrich updates Activator and other vital tweak dependencies with arm64e support & more

Well-known jailbreak tweak developer Ryan Petrich made an elusive appearance in Cydia over the weekend as he updated a plethora of vital dependencies with preliminary support for arm64e devices.

Petrich maintains some of the jailbreak community’s highest-profile dependencies, including Activator, AppList, PreferenceLoader, and RocketBoostrap, among others. Many of these were included in this past weekend’s update burst.

Sometimes when I’m in a rush to go somewhere, I’ll plug my iPhone into a power source or set it on my Qi wireless charging stand while getting ready to juice it up as much as I can beforehand. But I’ll be the first to admit that waiting for the battery percentage to rise while charging can be a daunting process, especially since iOS doesn’t provide any sort of ETA for a full charge.

Here to change that is a new free jailbreak tweak called Remaining Charge Time by iOS developer Teun Strik, which adds a charging remainder to the bottom of the Lock screen whenever your handset is charging to let you know (approximately) how long you’ll need to wait before it’s done.

LittleXS ports modern iOS features to non-notched handsets

With that in mind, wouldn’t it be nice if iOS notified you whenever it connects to a new Wi-Fi network?
