Apple seeds second developer betas for tvOS 9.2.2 and OS X 10.11.6, first beta for watchOS 2.2.2

In addition to iOS, Apple also seeded new betas for watchOS, tvOS and OS X on Monday. The betas are available to registered developers, and can be installed via the Apple Watch app on iPhone, OTA in tvOS for those with the latest beta profile, and the update tab in the Mac App Store.

The software version numbers are watchOS 2.2.2, tvOS 9.2.2 and OS X 10.11.6, and from what we saw in the first betas, they're not adding any significant new features. The 10.11.6 change log reads "improves the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac," and the others follow suit.

Apple seeds iOS 9.3.3 beta 2 to developers

Apple on Monday seeded the second beta of iOS 9.3.3 to developers. Registered iOS developers can grab the new build from the Apple Developer Center, or via an over-the-air update on a compatible device with the latest software.

The update comes two weeks after the first iOS 9.3.3 beta was released, and it's mostly bug fixes. It's also worth noting that Apple has seemingly fixed the 9.7-inch iPad Pro issue, as there's now a beta available for the flagship tablet.

Apple sends invites for June 13 WWDC keynote

Apple on Wednesday sent out press invitations for a keynote at its Worldwide Developers Conference, as first reported by Tech Insider. The keynote presentation is scheduled for the first day of WWDC 2016, Monday, June 13, at 10am.

The annual event is where Apple previews its platform advances so we fully expect them to show the world what they have in store for iOS 10 and OS X 10.12, in addition to tvOS and watchOS 3 updates.

Apple seeds first beta of iOS 9.3.3 to developers

Apple on Monday seeded the first beta of iOS 9.3.3 to developers. Registered iOS developers can grab the new build, which is labeled version 13G12, from the Apple Developer Center, or via an over-the-air update on a compatible device with the latest software.

The update comes just one week after iOS 9.3.2 was released to the public, which brought about a Bluetooth fix for iPhone SE models and other improvements. As you can see in the screenshot above, the 1.4GB iOS 9.3.3 update has also been earmarked for bug fixes.

Apple reminds developers that iAd network is shutting down next month

After announcing back in January that its iAd App Network will be discontinued as of June 30, 2016, Apple today issued an email blast, a copy of which was obtained by AppleInsider, in which it reminds developers of the impending shutdown that'll bring an end to monetization revenues and app promotion.

Despite the iAd App Network going offline starting July 1, developers will still be able to earn revenue from advertising from their own direct sales or by using other third party monetization services.

During the keynote presentation this morning which kicked off Google I/O 2016, the Internet giant previewed its much-anticipated entry into the voice-activated home device market in the form of a new appliance, named Google Home.

With a built-in Google Assistant that also powers Duo, a new smart messaging app coming to iOS and Android this summer, Home lets you retrieve information from the Internet, get answers to simple questions and carry out basic tasks—using your voice and the familiar “OK Google” wakeup phrase.

Siri for Mac icon leaks ahead of WWDC

9to5Mac claimed back in January that Siri would be finally coming to the Mac via the forthcoming OS X 10.12 software update this fall. Today, MacRumors published a genuine looking image that purportedly shows a colorful Siri icon sitting in OS X's Dock, adding fuel to the Siri for Mac rumors.

Another screenshot appears to show a Siri icon sitting in the Mac's menu bar at the top. The publication says that these screenshots were sent to them by a source “who has provided us with reliable information about Apple's software plans in the past”.

Apple’s boss to unveil Maps development center and iOS accelerator program in India

After visiting China yesterday to meet the country's officials and promote a $1 billion acquisition of the local ride-sharing service Didi Chuxing, Apple's boss Tim Cook is touring India today and is planning to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He is also expected to unveil a development center for Apple Maps in the country along with an accelerator program for iOS developers, Bloomberg reported today.
