Now that Apple has officially discontinued its free case program, how’s a person supposed to get a case these days? Buy one?

Well, you could, or you could just win a free one on the house!  That’s right, this Friday happens to be Free Case Friday, and we’re giving away not one, but two brand-spanking-new speck PixelSkin HD for iPhone 4 cases to two of our fortunate readers.  Will you be one of them?

Bumpers Being Sold at Apple Stores Again

I know when Apple announced that they would be handing out free bumpers to anyone who bought an iPhone 4 that the masses would be up in arms over the possibility of Apple deciding to discontinue the case. It wouldn't shock this bruised up author a bit if it came out someday that the cases were made strictly as a bandaid to be given out for the antenna issue.

9 to 5 Mac is reporting that the beloved protective measure is currently being sold at Apple stores. Apple just recently stopped their free case giveaway on September 30th as planned and now plans to turn a profit off of all those pesky freebies...

Aluminum Jacket for iPhone is Army Strong

If the Hummer was an iPhone case, it would probably be the Abee Aluminium Jacket for iPhone. This is definitely not going to cater to everybody's needs but I'm sure there is a market for this case, maybe in the army?

Japanese company Abee came out with an aluminum case called the Type 01 that reminds us of the Vapor case, just a bit more rough looking...

Bought an iPhone 4? Don’t Forget to Claim Your Free iPhone Case

If you bought an iPhone 4 between its launch date and September 30th, you are entitled to receiving a free iPhone case from Apple. The company had decided to give away case to iPhone 4 owners after complaints started erupting about the iPhone 4 antenna issue.

Last month though, Apple released a statement and confirmed that the "iPhone 4 Case program" would end on September 30th. So if you bought an iPhone 4 and haven't claimed your free case, then hurry up. Here is what you need to do...

iPhone Case Giveaway

I was doing a little bit of cleaning on my desk today and I found this iPhone case for 3GS. It was hiding under a pile of papers and other unnecessary documents.

I have absolutely no idea how this case made its way to my desk but since I don't use cases, I figured I'd give it away to one of you. Interested? Here is what you need to do to enter to win this case...

UPDATE: We got our winner! Congrats to Edward Smith (check your Facebook DM). We'll have more giveaways soon, so stay tuned ;)

Pay For the Subway With Your iPhone

I have always suspected that it wouldn't be long until our smartphones would replace our wallets. The ability to scan your iPhone to pay for groceries, postage and subway rides would make life much easier, right?

Well the New York City G Train has enabled their systems with payWave. Cult of Mac reports payWave lets your scan your iPhone in front of a kiosk in the transit station that allows users to bypass the metro card and such when you're paying for your subway ride...

Hardware Fix Coming for the iPhone 4 Antenna in September?

iDB reported about the iPhone 4 arriving in Mexico last week. Today Mac Rumors posted an article claiming an executive from Telcel, the mexican iPhone carrier, says the iPhone 4 will be getting a hardware revision once the free case promotion runs out.

Marco Quatorze comments that the policy of giving away free cases will be implemented the same to the rest of the countries selling the iPhone 4. Following September 30th (the date Steve Jobs said Apple would reevaluate the issue) the hardware would be changed to resolve the antenna discrepancies. A bold assumption to say the least...

iBottleOpener: iPhone Case Meets Bottle Opener

It took 3 years for someone to create the perfect case for iPhone. One that would protect your iPhone and quench your thirst. A case so simple and obvious that it got me saying out loud "why didn't I think about that"?

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to the iBottleOpener, a little marvel of engineering and technology that will bring "a party in your pocket". Forget normal bottle openers, they are so 2009! For $19.95 you can get yourself an iBottleOpener that will sure be getting you some attention.

The big letdown is that it's only available for iPhone 3G and 3GS so far, but it's apparently coming to the iPhone 4 soon.

You know you want it.

An iPad Case With Integrated Bluetooth Keyboard

Please meet the KeyCase iPad Folio, an interesting iPad case that integrates a Bluetooth keyboard to the casing. It seems that the iPad really wants to be a netbook killer and it's getting closer to it. Or is it?

I love the concept, but personally, if I had to carry that stuff around, I'd rather just buy a netbook, which let me remind you, can be a much better business companion than the iPad if you need to do some real work while on the road.

At about $95, the KeyCase iPad Folio is not a bad deal though, if that's what you're looking for. It's currently out of stock but I'm sure it will be available again soon on the company's website.
