Apple Posts Differences Between CDMA and GSM iPhone 4

Yesterday, we posted a data speed comparison, comparing AT&T and Verizon networks. While Verizon seemed to do better than AT&T in every way (in the San Francisco area, at least), it looks like the Verizon iPhone has some shortcomings as well.

Although we missed it, it seems that Apple had posted a comparison chart last week, detailing the differences between the GSM and CDMA versions of the iPhone. This comparison chart solely focuses on how the GSM and CDMA versions of the iPhone handle calls...

AskToCall Makes You Think Twice Before Phoning the Girl You Like

If you have a hard time asking out that girl that you're interested in, then definitely stay away from AskToCall, otherwise you'll never call her.

AskToCall is basically the phone version of AskToSend, another jailbreak tweak that helps you second guess your sending of SMS and email messages.

Once installed, there are no apps or settings to configure, but you will notice a new prompt every time you dial from your favorites, recents or contacts...

Have you ever misplaced your phone? I think it's safe to say we all have at one point. I know I've wasted time more than once while scrambling through my room trying to find my iPhone.

Usually I have to try and find another phone to call my own so that I can hear my ringtone. But what about the instances when another phone is not available and you really need to find your iPhone?

A few friends of mine don't have landline phones in their house anymore. What do you do when there is no other phone around and you don't have MobileMe's "Find My iPhone" feature? That's when "I Can't Find My Phone," by Dave Dawson, comes to the rescue...

This Jailbreak App Let’s You Easily Decline Phone Calls

EZDecline is a new jailbreak app that let's you easily decline phone calls. If your phone is locked and you receive a phone call, the only thing that will show on your screen is the "Slide to Answer" option. EZDecline tweaks that a bit by adding the buttons to "Decline" or "Answer".

Priced at $0.99, I don't find this mod much useful because this feature is already available under a different form on your iPhone...

iPhone Jailbreak Application Tells You Who’s Calling or Texting You

Last month we introduced you to CallTell, a jailbreak application that tells you who's calling before the phone starts ringing. Well, there's a new app available in Cydia that does just this, and a little more.

iCallAnnounce will announce in a human voice the name of the caller you're receiving a call from. Even better, it can also announce the full SMS details (Sender & Text) of an incoming SMS message in real time. How cool is that?

Call InfoFields App Gives More Info About Who’s Calling You

Call InfoFields is a new mod that lets you add an extra contact field of your choice to be shown when you are receiving a call, (ie. Job Title, Email, URL, Address or any other field of the contact that is calling you).

To set it up, just go in the settings and select what additional field of information you would like to display when you receive a call (ie. birthday, URL, job title of the contact, etc...). Obviously this information needs to be populated by you for each contact to be displayed on your phone.

New Jailbreak App Announces Who’s Calling You

CallTell is a new jailbreak app that will tell you who's calling before your phone starts ringing. If the person who's calling is in your contacts, it will just say his name. How cool is that? The app also works with text messages and can go as far as reading the text message to you!

CallTell only works on the iPhone 3GS and the iPhone 4. All options can be enabled/disabled within the Settings.app.
