Apple scores EU-wide sales ban on 7.7-inch Galaxy Tab, loses appeal on 10.1N

FOSS Patents reports that Apple has been granted an expanded sales ban on Samsung's Galaxy Tab 7.7 over design infringement, with a German court issuing a preliminary injunction ruling that Samsung may not sell the device anywhere in the European Union.

A sales ban in Germany has been in effect for a number of months now under a decision related to its larger sibling, the Galaxy Tab 10.1, but today's decision extends the ban to all EU countries. At the same time, Apple lost an appeal to bar Samsung’s revised Galaxy Tab 10.1N tablet from selling across Europe...

Galaxy Nexus pulled from Google Play Store in wake of Apple injunction

That didn't take long. Less than 12 hours after Judge Lucy Koh denied Samsung's request to stay the Galaxy Nexus injunction, the handset disappears from Google Play Stores.

Last week, Apple was able to convince Koh that the Nexus was infringing on its patents — enough to warrant a preliminary ban. And it looks like that ban is already in effect...

Apple says HTC lied to Customs, asks for another import ban

Late last year, the International Trade Commission found HTC to be infringing on one of Apple's patents. So the ITC gave the company until April to correct the problem, before enforcing a country-wide import ban on its products.

Long story short, shipments of several HTC devices were held up at U.S. customs last month due to the ruling. And even though it supposedly found a workaround, and the shipments were released, HTC isn't out of the woods just yet...

Remember Airfoil Speakers Touch app? Of course you do, this nifty little program from Rogue Amoeba turns your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad into an audio receiver so you can send any audio from your desktop to your iOS device. As you know, Apple pulled it two weeks ago without giving the team much of an explanation only to allow it into the store a few days ago.

Why did Apple just pull Airfoil Speakers Touch from the App Store?

There's an interesting story developing on the App Store front today. It seems that Apple has just pulled the popular Airfoil Speakers Touch application from its digital download hub, without offering up any kind of explanation.

If you haven't heard of the app before, it's essentially a utility that allows allowed you to stream audio from your desktop Mac or PC to an iOS device using AirPlay. It's been in the App Store for years. So why'd Apple pull it?

New iCloud Feature Gives Banned Apps their Second Wind

It appears that the App Store iOS application has received a nice little update. Users are now allowed to re-download previously purchased applications via iCloud, even ones that have been banned by Apple.

These are titles that were accepted into the App Store at one point, but have since been removed due to violation of App Store Guidelines, or simply because Apple said so. But folks longing to play banished apps like iTris again just might be in luck ...

Apple Bans JailbreakMe From Its Stores

Well, it only took Apple 4 days to realize they should block access to JailbreakMe.com from their stores' wifi network to stop those pranksters from jailbreaking iPhones, iPads and iPods. According to 9 to 5 Mac, pointing a device to www.JailbreakMe.com from inside the store redirects to Apple's website.

I'm sure Ethan will be happy about that.
