Leaked CAD drawing and claimed chassis video show radically thinner iPad mini 4 design

Claimed CAD drawing published Monday by the usually reliably OnLeaks provides yet another indication that Apple's next-generation iPad mini will be the slimmest 7.9-inch iPad yet, basically supporting the theory that the iPad mini 4 will match the thinness of the iPad Air 2.

The device's profile is expected to go from 7.5mm down to the iPad Air 2 thinness of just 6.1mm, or less than the iPad mini 3 thickness of 7.5mm. In addition to the technical drawing of the iPad mini 4, OnLeaks posted a nice hands-on video showcasing a claimed iPad mini 4 housing.

Apple expected to debut new iPhones, iPads and Apple TV on September 9

Apple is planning an event for Wednesday, September 9 to announce new products, according to BuzzFeed's John Paczkowski. The well-connected reporter is hearing that the company will use the stage to unveil new iPhones, iPads and Apple TV.

In line with previous rumors, Paczkowski says the new iPhones—which the press has been referring to as the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus—will feature pressure-sensitive Force Touch displays, improved camera systems and significantly faster processors.

Why are iTunes Store music links now redirecting to Apple Music?

It appears that Apple has changed the way iTunes Store music links work. Instead of opening the corresponding artist, song or album pages in the iTunes Store application on the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad (or the iTunes Store section within desktop iTunes), these links now redirect to the Apple Music section in the stock Music app or within desktop iTunes, as first reported by Kirk McElhearn.

Lara Croft GO gets a release date

Lara Croft GO, an upcoming turn-based mobile strategy game from Hitman GO creators Square Enix, will be hitting the iOS platform on Thursday, August 27. In a media release announcing the release date, Square Enix said the upcoming game offers “a never-before-seen take on the iconic franchise, featuring challenging levels, gorgeous visuals and a mesmerizing soundtrack.”

Mass production of new iPhones slightly delayed, but launch won’t be postponed

With just a few weeks until Apple's assumed fall refresh of its smartphone lineup, revered analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities cautions that Apple appears to have slightly delayed mass production of 'iPhone 6s' and 'iPhone 6s Plus' devices.

The phones should enter volume production later this month, or about one to two weeks later than originally expected, Kuo was quoted as saying by Taiwanese media. Thankfully, the slight delay shouldn't affect Apple's launch plans so expect the new iPhones to drop in mid-September.

A new ‘Steve Jobs’ trailer depicts meticulous product launch preparations and other tidbits

Aaron Sorkin and Danny Boyle’s’s 'Steve Jobs' film is scheduled to hit movie theaters in the United States on October 9 so movie producers began airing a brand new TV trailer on television in an effort to drum up publicity for the forthcoming flick.

The 60-second video flashes between scenes depicting Steve's meticulous preparations for Apple's carefully choreographed product presentations and ones reflecting on his troubled relationship with Lisa, Jobs's first daughter who appears to be the ”heroine of the film” as the director put it.

Apple merges product and store pages in major site redesign

Apple on Thursday launched a new version of its website, Apple.com, featuring merged product and store pages. The standalone 'Store' tab has been removed from the top navigation bar, as is the infamous 'store.apple.com' domain.

Now, the online store is integrated throughout the website, with purchasing buttons and options pinned at the top of every product page. The goal here is to streamline the experience, allowing you to explore and shop in one place.
