FreshWall gives you a new wallpaper to look at every time you unlock your device

At iDB, we understand the importance of finding the right wallpaper for your handset, and that’s one of the reasons why we host a weekly wallpaper roundup. But if you have a jailbroken handset and feel the need for more frequent wallpaper changes, then you might take a liking to a new tweak release called FreshWall by iOS developer SparkDev.

As you might have inferred already from the context above, FreshWall keeps things ‘fresh’ by updating your wallpaper whenever you unlock your handset. The tweak makes use of numerous wallpaper sources to grab images, which ensures you get something fresh to look at each and every time.

Meteoroid automatically sets your wallpaper from various NASA image sources

One of the most personal aspects of any iPhone or iPad is the wallpaper we choose to decorate our Lock screen and/or Home screen, but sometimes choosing the ideal image for the job can be a grueling challenge.

A new free jailbreak tweak called Meteoroid by iOS developer Jeff Rescignano attempts to make this much easier for the end user by automatically selecting and applying high-quality wallpapers for you.

Wallpapers of the week: full spectrum color

Our Wallpapers of the Week category is populated on Sundays with photo quality images for your favorite iOS devices. In contrast to last week's true black OLED friendly wallpapers, the following collection is vibrant and full spectrum color. From reds to blues and orange to purple, these full color wallpapers are going to light up your screen.

Wallpapers of the week: true black with colorful gradients

Since the introduction of OLED screen technology with the iPhone X, having a true black wallpaper really sets apart the visual appeal of your wallpaper. Of course, these images look incredible on non-OLED displays, but iPhone X and iPhone XS devices have the ability to turn off the part of the screen that contains a true black image. This causes the colorful part of the image to really pop against the black contrast.

Set iPhone wallpapers that change throughout the day with AutoWall

One of my favorite features in macOS Mojave is the dynamic wallpaper, which changes from a daytime desert landscape during the day to a nighttime desert landscape come nightfall. Apple is evidently capable of implementing something like this on the iOS platform as well, but they haven’t yet; and there’s no guarantee they ever will.

Fortunately, jailbreakers don’t need to wait. A free jailbreak tweak called AutoWall by iOS developer Julio Verne lets you have time-centric dynamic wallpapers on your iPhone or iPad – perfect for replicating macOS Mojave’s treasured feature on the iOS platform.
