Scoble: Apple is Building Twitter in Deeply into iOS 5

Following our report a few days ago that Twitter was going to be integrated into iOS 5, tech evangelist Robert Scoble is adding that not only Twitter will be integrated into iOS 5, but it will actually be built deeply into Apple's latest iOS.

At this point we can only speculate what this deep integration is going to bring to iOS users: widgets, BBM-like messaging system, photo sharing? Your guess is as good as mine...

Can You Tell These Fake and Real iPhones Apart?

We've seen our share of fake iPhones in the past but this is without a doubt the best one ever made. It's so close to the real deal that it is even compatible with Apple's official 30 pin connector and headsets.

Have a good look at the pictures below. I dare you to find out which one is real, and which one is fake. In case you can't figure it out, we'll give you the answer at the bottom of the post...

US Army Prepares the iPhone for War

Following in the footsteps of the U.S. Government, the Army is planning to hold desert trials in the U.S. next week to test smartphones and tablets for use during war. Devices include the iPhone and Android-powered handsets, which will be stress-tested with a variety of applications that could see troops using smartphones during battle.

The devices would be used for things lie monitoring surveillance cameras or downloading "up-to-the minute information from a remote database," according to a Wall Street Journal report...

New Jailbreak App Lets You Easily Delete Phone Calls

Ever wished you could delete individual phone calls from your call logs on your iPhone? If so, Call Delete is the app for you. Up until now, you could only delete none or all of the missed or placed phone calls from your iPhone, but Call Delete is going to change that by giving you a little more freedom.

Just like you would guess, Call Delete lets you delete specific phone calls from your iPhone logs. If you recently called your ex and you don't want your new girlfriend to find out, this is going to do the trick...

Awesome iOS 5 Video Concept

iOS 5 has clearly been a source of creativity for designers across the globe. With the WWDC getting closer, we're seeing more and more of these iOS 5 concepts. From dashboard to app switching, and from widgets to settings, there are tons of great ideas being put out there.

In this iOS 5 concept video, the Monkey Color design studio shows us how they envision Widgets, Settings, Notifications, and Favorite Friends on Apple's upcoming operating system, and it looks good...

Location Aware Calendar Alerts Shown in Apple Patent

Upcoming iPhone software could take GPS data and information from the internet to provide location and situation-aware calendar events and notifications, if a recently released patent application from Apple ever comes to fruition.

Discovered by AppleInsider, and entitled "Dynamic Alerts for Calendar Events" the patent was first applied for back in 2009 but Apple haven't put it to any useful use. Yet...

AT&T Running Out of Black iPhone 4, iPhone 5 Coming Out Soon?

Wow oh oh. This is probably the most exciting news of the day, even though it doesn't look like much on the surface. If you look at AT&T's website right now, you'll see that they are running out of black iPhone 4s.

They do have the white iPhone 4, and they even have refurbished black iPhone 4, but no new ones. What can that possibly mean? Maybe a new iPhone 5 coming out real soon?

iH8sn0w Announces iFaith SHSH Blob Dumping Tool

SHSH blobs, despite the slightly comical name are extremely important in the world of iOS jailbreaking. See, the problem with jailbreaking iOS devices is every once in a while you might need to revert to an old firmware version, something Apple isn't too keen on.

When attempting to flash an iDevice with a firmware other than the most current one, iTunes will contact Apple's servers for authentication and because your version of iOS is older than the one currently installed, the server refuses.

Luckily this can be gotten around as with so many things in tech - and this is where SHSH blobs come in, along with a new tool by hacking friend iH8sn0w called iFaith...

DietBar Makes Your iPhone Navigation Bar Thinner

And here we go, folks. Here comes DietBar, the first tweak by Ryan Petrich's TweakWeek. DietBar is a simple tweak that will get your iPhone or iPod Touch navigation bar on a diet by making it look thinner.

Like all tweaks, DietBar will not install any icon, and doesn't even come with any settings. Just download it from Cydia, launch an app, and look at the navigation bar being shrunk...

Introducing TweakWeek, One Jailbreak Tweak a Day for 7 Days

Here is an awesome initiative by Ryan Petrich, one of my favorite jailbreak developers. Ryan recently launched TweakWeek, a challenge where he is going to release one open source jailbreak tweak a day for an entire week.

Even better, a few other jailbreak developers are already lined up for the next few weeks. While Petrich is going to develop one tweak a day this week, next week tweaks will be developed by Filippo Bigarella, the following week by Tyler Nettleton, etc...

Universal Music Joins Apple’s iCloud Gang

Well, that makes four, folks! Apple has now secured a deal with Universal Music Group that grants access to the company's music through Apple's upcoming iCloud service. Universal is the last of the four major labels to sign up, with EMI, Sony and Warner joining the gang over the last few weeks.

Although it did not mention that music features would be part of the service, Apple did confirm that the iCloud service would be announced at WWDC on Monday, and if recent speculation is correct, we may soon be able to say goodbye to all the music files that take up valuable storage on our iOS devices and stream our favorite tracks from the cloud instead...

This is What the iCloud Logo Looks Like

Curious about what the new iCloud logo will look like? Here you go. From here, it looks like a simplified version of the MobileMe logo. At this point, there is no doubt in my mind that MobileMe is dead and being replaced by iCloud.

MobileMe never really took off and was kind of a fiasco at launch. If you have a good product with a bad history, just rebrand it, add a few new features in there, and make sure you make a big deal out of the launch, which Apple already did...
