‘DoubleTapToOpen’ Prevents You From Accidentally Opening Apps

Have you ever found yourself opening your iPhone's apps by accident? Perhaps you're navigating from page to page, and you finger slips, launching an app that you had no intention of opening?

If that scenario sounds all too familiar, then DoubleTapToOpen may be just what you need.

DoubleTapToOpen is a recently added tweak to Cydia's BigBoss repo, that requires you to double tap an app icon before it will launch. Personally, I find this tweak to be a bit over-the-top, but check inside and judge for yourselves...

Earlier today, a report came in regarding the date as to when Apple would hold its annual fall media event. Japanese site Kodawarisan claimed that Apple will be holding the media event as soon as September 7th.

While Apple has announced next generation iPods in September for the past three years, a new report has completely debunked the rumor of an Apple event on September 7th...

Gadget Resellers Eagerly Await the iPhone 5

As the announcement of Apple's next iPhone draws near, online resellers are gearing up for an influx in older iPhone models for sale.

When Apple introduced the iPhone 4 at WWDC last year, online gadget buyback service Gazelle bought back 10,000 old iPhone models the very same day, with the site buying back 32,000 iPhones total last year. As we slowly start to enter the expected timeframe for Apple's iPhone 5 announcement, expect the amount of leaks/rumors to grow substantially. Steve Jobs and company have done a good job guarding their secret thus far, but the weeks prior to launch can get tricky.

The closer we get to an official announcement, the more likely it is that more people have been told about the device. That seems to be the case here, as iPhoneinCanada is reporting that Canadian carrier Rogers employees are starting their "pre-launch" iPhone training...

Fix iOS 4.3.3 Vulnerability with isslfix

If you may recall, with the release of the long awaited JailbreakMe 3.0 for iOS 4.3.3, literally 10 days later Apple patched the clever PDF exploit in iOS 4.3.4. The security exploit could be triggered by viewing a maliciously crafted PDF file which may lead to an unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution.

While the main reason Apple patched the exploit was to stop the use of JailbreakMe, it can also be a security concern. A few days later, Apple released another iOS software update, iOS 4.3.5. Apple released this update to patch the certificate validation vulnerability.

If you love customizing your iDevice to the fullest, you've probably already jailbroken, unless you didn't update by accident or purchase your iDevice after Apple stopped signing iOS 4.3.3. Unfortunately, while not updating to the latest software may preserve your jailbreak, you may also be at risk from the same vulnerability...
