Apple Could See iPad Sales Blocked in China Over Trademark Infringement

Apple is no stranger to litigation. In the last 6 months alone it has taken on all three major Android partners (Samsung, HTC, and Motorola) in some sort of courtroom battle. So it was no surprise to hear about its recent lawsuit in China over the iPad trademark.

But what is surprising is the fact that a Shenzhen court rejected the lawsuit, ruling in favor of the defendant, Proview — a Taiwanese electronics company. So until Apple decides to take further action, it doesn't own the rights to "iPad" in the world's largest country...

Rumor: Next iMac Will Have Built-In Apple TV

Wedge Partners analyst Brian Blair chimes in on the Apple TV rumors by sharing his own predictions. According to Blair, the next-generation iMac for 2012 will integrate the Apple TV and iCloud, turning it into a personal computer with TV capabilities. Blair says:

“We think this makes sense because while we typically think about the newest TV’s hanging on the wall in large form factors, Apple could effectively start with what they already have on the manufacturing line and slowly push their offering from 27 inches and scale up from there to 32 inches and then move on to the 42, 50 and 55 inch market,” he writes. “In short, we believe the initial Apple TV is their iMac computer that can function as a TV, over the iCloud platform.”

I fail to see the practicality of a Mac/TV, but who knows? What do you think?

US wireless provider AT&T is set to smash its own quarterly sales record after announcing that it has sold roughly 6 million smartphones in the first two months of the fourth quarter.

That mammoth result means that the carrier needs to sell just 100,000 smartphones during the last month of this quarter in order to match its current record, which was set during the third quarter of last year.

The reason for AT&T having such a great quarter? The iPhone 4S, of course...

For those not familiar with the software, aTV Flash is a jailbreak application for the Apple TV 2 that includes a web browser and support for streaming dozens of file formats. It is the app for Apple TV jailbreakers, and it just received a major update...
