iLaunch Thunder: Launch Nerf Darts Via Your iPhone’s Bluetooth Connection [Updated]

In need of a great conversation piece for your desk? Look no further than the iLaunch Thunder from Dream Cheeky.

The iLaunch Thunder allows you to launch Nerf-styled darts via a rotatable base using nothing more than your iDevice, its Bluetooth connection, and the free iLaunch Controller app downloadable from the App Store.

In our tests, the iLaunch Thunder worked just as advertised, though it is pretty pricey at around $100. But that's okay, we're giving this one away...

iPhone 4S Launches in Over 20 New Countries

Just as was predicted earlier this month, Apple rolled out its latest handset to several new countries today. Even though the company didn't make an official announcement in advance, its website now reflects the additional regions.

The iPhone 4S launched here in the states back in October, along with a handful of other countries. Since then, Apple has been speedily rolling out the popular device to new areas on a month by month basis. So who got it today?

Steve Jobs Biography Author Says His Book Was Only “First Draft,” More Content to Come

Steve Jobs' biographer Walter Isaacson is considering adding more content to his already-released book on Apple's late co-founder and former CEO.

The book originally went on sale not long after the iconic Jobs' death, but with so many questions left unanswered and some pundits suggesting that the book misses important events from the man's life, Isaacson has admitted that he may well need to add more content to his already-lengthy book.

In fact, during an interview with Fortune, Isaacson went so far as to call the best-seller a "first draft," which we are sure will no doubt not please everyone who spent their hard-earned money on it.

Apple’s A5 Processors Now Being Made in Texas

Some interesting news today if you like chips (and who doesn't?), especially those that go into the beating hearts of our iPads and iPhones. Samsung's Texan facility has historically been the source of NAND flash memory, but according to a new report by Reuters, it is also now responsible for the A5 chip used by Apple.

The A5 chip is what powers Apple's iPhone 4S and iPad 2, and bringing production of the part to the United States hasn't been cheap for Samsung.

Microsoft Joins the iPad Accessory Game With a $50 Keyboard

Microsoft is on something of an Apple jaunt at the moment. The Windows and Office king has already been releasing iOS apps quicker than anyone else over the last few days, and it has now decided to join the lucrative iOS device accessory market with the Mobile Keyboard 5000.

Despite pushing its upcoming Windows 8 as the true tablet operating system, Microsoft has announced a new Bluetooth mobile keyboard for use with the iPad. It will also in theory worth with Android tablets and presumably future Windows 8 devices (it will not work with the Kindle Fire, by the way).

As far as hardware keyboards go, this offering from Microsoft doesn't look bad at all, assuming you can overlook those Windows keys.

Siri Jailbreak Tweak Promises SBSettings-Like Experience

I've always thought something like this will be a good idea, and it will come to fruition as soon as an iPhone 4S jailbreak is released.

While the circumstances around an iPhone 4S jailbreak are still a tad sketchy, what's clear as day is that this tweak would be ridiculously handy, and should have been a native Siri feature to begin with.

Essentially, this allows you to control various toggles like Wi-Fi connection, bluetooth, etc. using only your voice. e.g. "Turn Wi-Fi on", "Set the backlight level to 60%", and pretty much anything else you'd normally be able to toggle with SBSettings.

Diary of an iPhone Blogger: Celeste

It was one of the most hyped jailbreak tweaks of all time. It promised to do wonders for the way we share files between our iPhone's and other devices. In the end, it's almost completely forgotten, and hasn't even been updated to support iOS 5.

I'm of course talking about Celeste: the Bluetooth file sharing tweak that amassed amazing levels of hype and fanfare before arriving with the impact of a pin-drop in the middle of a grassy football field.

Check inside for my experience with one of the most overhyped jailbreak releases of all time...

Rumor: Apple to Release 8-Inch Tablet in 2012

It's not even January and we are already hearing iPad rumors on an almost-daily basis. Yesterday we told you about the purported "leaked" iPad 3 microphone component that recently surfaced on the web.

While admittedly "leaked" parts are rarely anything to get excited about, the gossip we have for you today is quite interesting. Apparently, the word on the street in China is that Apple is looking to get into the 8-inch tablet game sometime next year...

How to See Facebook Timelines on Your iPhone

Back in September of this year Facebook held its F8 developer conference. Like Apple's WWDC event, Facebook uses F8 to announce new features and services. The big hit of this year's conference was the company's new Timeline feature.

Facebook Timelines allows you to see all of a user's content on the social networking site in one convenient stream. We've already shown you how to access the feature on the iPad, and now we're going to tell you how to see it on the iPhone.

iTunes Match Rollout Continues to Countries Like Germany and Mexico

It appears that Apple is continuing its international rollout of iTunes Match today. Last night we told you that the music matching service's US-only restriction had been lifted, as users in other countries started reporting access to the feature.

However, a lot of folks have been complaining of issues with signing up for the service, leading some to believe that the iTunes Match launch was premature. But problems or not, the rollout continues with other countries now noting availability.

Rumor: Leaked iPad 3 Microphone Points to Possible Redesign

If there is one thing with more leaks than a broken sink, it has to be the iOS device parts industry. No big iPhone or iPad release goes by without at least one of its various internal parts leaking out of one of Apple's manufacturing partners.

The rumored iPad 3 is no different, with photographs of one such part leaking out via Cydia Blog. The part, reportedly an iPad 3 microphone flex cable, is currently available for purchase from TVC-Mall along with two other supposed iPad 3 parts which leaked earlier this year.

The Tablet Apple Tried to Stop

There's still 10 days left until Christmas, but Samsung has already gotten its holiday wish. Earlier this month, an Australian judge overturned an injunction that has kept the company from selling its Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the country.

The ban has been in place since August of this year, and was a major win for Apple in its ongoing patent battle with the Korean manufacturer. The two companies have been in and out of courtrooms around the globe since April...
