A few weeks ago we gave you a preview of GridTab, a jailbreak application that shows your opened Safari tabs in a grid, as seen on the image above.
GridTab is available in Cydia for $0.99. You can see a video of it in action below...

RedSn0w was recently updated to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1. While this is excellent news, it doesn't come without its drawbacks as only the iPhone 3G, older iPhone 3GS, and non-MC iPod touch 2G get the untethered jailbreak.
Other devices get a tethered jailbreak, which means that every time you reboot your iPhone, you will have to plug your iPhone in your computer, and launch RedSn0w to start your iPhone. Hopefully the Dev Team will come up with a way to bypass this soon.
If you are an unlocker, you should not update to 4.2.1 yet. You will lose your chances of unlocking. Wait for PwnageTool, which should be updated relatively soon.
This step by step guide will show you how to jailbreak your iPhone iOS 4.2.1 with RedSn0w. This tutorial was made using an iPhone 3GS but the steps are the same, no matter what device you are using...
The Dev Team just updated RedSn0w to version 0.9.6b4, which will jailbreak iOS 4.2.1. As we explained yesterday, thanks to a combination of pwnage2 exploit, the arm7_go exploit, 24kpwn, and LimeRa1n, you will get an untethered jailbreak for iPhone 3G, older iPhone 3GS, and non-MC iPod touch 2G.
Unfortunately, other devices will get a tethered jailbreak, which means you will have to plug your iPhone in and launch RedSn0w every time you reboot...
iPhone hacker P0sixNinja just posted an update on Twitter saying his GreenPois0n jailbreak should be updated to support the recently released iOS 4.2.1 within a few days. According to his words, the jailbreak will be tethered or semitethered, whatever that means.
Earlier today, the Dev Team also gave us an update about the iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak and unlock saying they were working hard on it. Things look pretty good and it seems everyone will be able to get a jailbreak relatively soon. Older devices like the iPhone 3G and 3GS will most likely even be untethered and unlockable...
Earlier today, Apple released iOS 4.2, or more precisely 4.2.1. Every time we have a new software update, the questions come back. When can we get a jailbreak? For what models? Tethered? Untethered? Can I unlock? You know the drill.
The Dev Team wrote a blog post a few minutes ago updating us about the status of the jailbreak and unlock for iOS 4.2.1. Here are the most important points:
I've been having problems loading Cydia for a couple of hours now. After asking around on Twitter, it appears that I'm not the only one. Every time I launch Cydia I get an error message telling me it was unable to load Cydia.
With the recent release of iOS 4.2 and knowing that Cydia wasn't working properly with iOS 4.2.1 GM, it's not unreasonable to think that Saurik might be working on updating the homepage of Cydia...
A few minutes ago, we explained you how to set up Find My iPhone on your iPhone 4. Technically, the newly free Find My iPhone only works for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch running iOS 4.2. There is however a trick to make this work on older devices.
The funniest part is that Apple is even telling you how to bypass their own rules...
As we reported earlier today, iOS 4.2 for iPhone is now available for download. To get iOS 4.2 on your iPhone, simply make sure your have updated iTunes to the latest version available (version 10.1), then plug your iPhone in.
iTunes should tell you that a newer software is available for download and prompt you to update. If iTunes doesn't tell you anything, click "check for updates". If you still can't see anything, try again later as iOS 4.2 might not be available in your area just yet, as it takes time to propagate throughout the servers...
The news just fell that iOS 4.2 will be available later today iOS 4.2 is available for download. One of the big news about iOS 4.2 for iPhone is that it's coming with a free access to the Find My iPhone feature, which was previously part of the $99/year MobileMe.
Now that Find My iPhone is free, I'm wondering what makes it compelling to still pay 100 bucks a year for MobileMe, a service that you can pretty much substitute for free by Google Sync.
This being said, here are instructions on how to set up Find My iPhone on your iPhone, no strings attached...
I just received an interesting tip about a pretty major Photoshop fail you can currently see on Apple's website. If you go to this page right now, you will see pictures of second and third generation iPod Touch's sporting the camera icon.
Only the 4th generation iPod Touch, which was recently released, is equipped with a camera. So this is definitely a major fail from Apple's web design department. I assume this will be fixed in the next few hours...

Those of you who don't have anything to hide won't care much about this, but if you have secrets to keep hidden from others, then the new jailbreak application HideEmAll might be the right tool for you.
The app description sells it as an app to keep you out of trouble. I like to look at HideEmAll as a way to protect some of your information from curious people, rather than hiding dirty pictures from your wife. I guess you can use it for both...
Last month we got words that Apple was looking into dumping iPhone carriers by creating a unique SIM card that would be integrated inside the phone and that would allow people to buy the iPhone directly from Apple and choose a carrier via the App Store.
At the time I wrote about this, my concern was that carriers wouldn't be too happy about this move that would completely set them aside from the deal. It seems that I was right, as most carriers are telling Apple to go back to the drawing board, or else they might stop selling the iPhone...
