Dev Team Releases RedSn0w Jailbreak for iOS 5 Beta 7

Hot on the heels of the release of iOS 5 beta 7, MuscleNerd announced on Twitter that he has updated RedSn0w to bring support for the latest beta firmware.

Up until now, if you wanted to jailbreak iOS 5 beta 7, you had to point RedSn0w to beta 6. It worked, but it wasn't ideal. By pushing RedSn0w 0.9.8b7b, the Dev Team makes things square, allowing you to jailbreak beta 7 by pointing the tool directly to beta 7...

TinyUmbrella Updated for iOS 5 Beta 6

Heads up for those of you who are currently running one of the beta versions of iOS 5. Notcom recently updated TinyUmbrella, which now brings support for iOS 5 Beta 4, 5 and 6.

Unfortunately, it seems that this latest version was released right before Apple dropped iOS 5 Beta 7, so TinyUmbrella won't support the latest beta...

Apple Did Not Lose an iPhone 5 Prototype

A couple days ago, we were telling you the crazy story of Apple losing yet another iPhone prototype. Like me, you probably were very skeptical when you first read about an Apple employee losing an iPhone 5 prototype in a bar in San Francisco.

The story took a more believable turn when we realized that the source was CNET, a respectable and trustworthy online publication that all of you have heard of before. It was still an incredible story, but because it came from CNET, we didn't think twice about reporting it, just like every other blog out there.

Things fell apart yesterday when The San Francisco Weekly revealed that the city Police had no record of any complaint from Apple or any investigation going on about that matter. In short, Apple never lost an iPhone 5 prototype...

Apple Releases iOS 5 Beta 7

Not even two weeks after releasing iOS 5 Beta 6 to developers, Apple just released iOS 5 Beta 7. If you're already on Beta 6, simply go to Settings > General > Software Update in order to update your iDevice. That is, unless you are jailbroken, in which case, you will not be able to update over-the-air. But you can always update via iTunes.

Seven beta versions for an iOS firmware is unheard of so far. Apple sure is polishing this new software, which should be released to the public in the next few weeks.

We have the full change log below...

Can You Ear Me Now?

Those of you who didn't really like the Hand Case might not be too fond of the Ear Case either. Engin-ear-ed by the peeps at Thumbs Up World, the Ear Case won't help you hear better, but it should get you some much deserved attention.

Made of silicone rubber, it will definitely protect your iPhone and will take care of any antenna issue you might have...

Comex Answers Your Questions

After being featured in a Forbes article last month, jailbreak prodigy and all around hacker Comex started to draw attention outside of the jailbreak scene. As a matter of fact, the folks at Apple started paying attention to the point that they offered him a job. Our loss, their gain.

Of course, questions started popping up in every jailbreaker's mind. Will Comex give away his exploits to Apple? Will he keep working on jailbreaks and exploits? Will he keep JailbreakMe alive? Many questions that remained unanswered, until today...

iOS 5 Beta 6 Will Expire on September 29

Apple released iOS 5 Beta 6 yesterday to developers. What we hadn't confirmed, until now, is the expiration date of the latest beta release.

As you may know, all iOS beta versions that Apple releases have an expiration date, and past this expiration date, devices that haven't been updated will be disabled, that is, at least until they're updated to a newer version...

The iPhone 5’s Worst Nightmare

What keeps you up at night? Money problems? Health issues? Your job? The terrible relationship you're in? We all have something that worries us from time to time.

Apple Rumored to Release an iCloud iPhone

If you've had enough of those iPhone 5 rumors, you might see this news coming from AppleNApps as entertaining, or even intriguing, depending how you look at it.

According to the site, Apple is set to release a free, iCloud-based iPhone along with the iPhone 5 release, sometimes next month...

Unboxing the iPhone 5

Believe it or not, someone is already unboxing the iPhone 5. Chances of it being fake? I'd say 99.9%. But who knows, there's always a slim, little chance.

The video was posted on YouTube by ZAGG, the people that make the InvisibleShield. I highly suspect this video was put up together to get attention. And it worked...
