Nat Geo photographer commends iPhone 5s camera

During his latest trip to Scotland, National Geographic photographer Jim Richardson snapped over 4,000 photos using his new iPhone 5s. And he had nothing but good things to say about the smartphone and its camera.

Bloomberg: iTunes Radio heading to UK, Canada and more in early 2014

Bloomberg is reporting this evening that it has learned Apple is working to rollout iTunes Radio to the UK, Canada and other countries by early 2014. The music service, which launched last month, is currently only available in the US.

Citing anonymous sources familiar with the matter, the outlet says that Apple has acquired the necessary licenses from labels to take its service international next year—likely beating Pandora and other competitors to several countries...

iOS 6.1.3/4 jailbreak will be ready before 2014

Good news for folks who stuck around on iOS 6.1.3/4 in hopes of scoring an early jailbreak, developer winocm has confirmed that a public release for his late-version iOS 6 hack will be available in the next few months.

Winocm has been working on an iOS 6.1.3/4 jailbreak for a few months now. He's shown it off on video, and even let our very own Jeff take it for a spin. And today he answered the oft-asked ETA question: 'before 2014.'

Camera+ updated with full-resolution burst-mode and new filter pack

Camera+ users that have been having problems with the app crashing during burst-mode shooting will be happy to hear that the problem has been fixed. Developers tap tap tap issued an update today, bringing the app to version 4.2.

In addition to the burst-mode bug fix, the app also received a booster shot for the popular feature: your burst-mode snaps are now taken in high-resolution (for compatible devices), and a new filter pack. Release notes after the fold...

After meeting with Apple suppliers, analyst predicts 4.8-inch iPhone 6

Though we're just a few weeks removed from the iPhone 5s launch, rumors of Apple's next-generation handset are already starting to pile up. At least thus far they've been fairly consistent: the display is going to get a size bump.

And that's what Jeffries analyst Peter Misek is predicting too, after returning from a meeting last week with Apple's Asian suppliers. Misek issued a note to investors this afternoon calling for an 'iPhone 6' with a 4.8-inch display...

Transport Tycoon now available on the App Store

AT&T U-verse subscribers will be happy to hear that you can now watch live TV right on your iPhone (and iPad). The TV, phone and Internet provider updated its iOS client this weekend with this and several other new features.

Today's 3.0.1 update also adds a slew of improvements to the app's visual interface, with new fonts, colors and Retina graphics. And the remote control screens have been revamped with sound settings for enhanced usability...

500px app gets new edge-to-edge design and more in 2.2 update

Popular photo-sharing service 500px has posted a significant update for its iOS client this weekend. The release, which brings the app to version 2.2, includes an all-new visual design and new swipe gestures.

The new translucent edge-to-edge design makes the app's interface more streamlined and accentuates high resolution photos. And the new swipe gestures help you quickly perform actions like 'Like' and 'Reply.'

Job listing suggests iTunes Radio is headed to Canada soon

Folks in Canada will be happy to hear that iTunes Radio may soon be landing in the country. A new job listing on Apple's website calls for a 'iTunes Canada Music Programmer,' who will be responsible for rolling out the music service.

Apple launched iTunes Radio last month alongside the redesigned iOS 7, and thus far it's only been available in the US. But if this job listing is any indication, the company could soon be rolling out the music service to more countries...
