Apple seeds first watchOS 3.2 beta to developers with Theater Mode and SiriKit

Apple on Monday seeded the first beta of watchOS 3.2 to developers. It can be installed by registered developers with the appropriate profile by opening the Watch app in iOS, and navigating to General > Software Update.

The beta arrives a week after the release of watchOS 3.1.3, and just over 3 months after 3.1 rolled out to the public. It also follows a slew of other betas Apple issued last week, including iOS 10.3 and macOS Sierra 10.12.4.

Twitter rolling out enhanced Explore tab to iOS users

Twitter on Thursday announced that it has begun rolling out an enhanced Explore tab for its mobile users. The updated feature combines trending topics, Moments, search and live video into a single spot to make it easier for users to see what's happening on the social network.

Apple hires Dropcam co-founder Greg Duffy

Former CEO and co-founder of Dropcam Greg Duffy has joined Apple, reports The Information. A company spokesman has confirmed the high profile hiring to the outlet, but would not comment on what his role would be in Cupertino.

Apple releases iOS 10.2.1, watchOS 3.1.3, tvOS 10.1.1, and macOS Sierra 10.12.3 with bug fixes and improvements

Apple on Monday released several updates for its various platforms. iOS 10.2.1 is out for iPhones and iPads, tvOS 10.1.1 for fourth-gen Apple TVs, watchOS 3.1.3 for Apple Watches, and macOS Sierra 10.12.3 for Macs. All of the updates can be installed via their respective OTA mechanisms, or you can grab the standalone packages from our Downloads page.

Nintendo announces new ‘Fire Emblem’ game coming to iOS February 2

Nintendo on Wednesday announced that its next game released for mobile will be a new entry from the popular Fire Emblem franchise. It's called Fire Emblem Heroes, and it is slated to launch on iOS and Android on February 2.

Like other FE titles, Heroes is a tactical roleplaying game with upgradeable characters from the series. In this all-new storyline, players are tasked with summoning warriors to fight in epic battles between two warring kingdoms.

KGI: Kaby lake processors and more RAM coming to Mac laptops this year

Apple is planning updates for its MacBook and MacBook Pro lines later this year, according to a research note from KGI Securities' Ming-Chi Kuo. The noted analyst says the new notebooks will feature Intel's next-generation Kaby Lake processors and updated RAM options.

Kuo says the refreshed 12-inch MacBook models will enter mass production as early as March, and may offer a new 16GB RAM option (currently capped off at 8GB). As for the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro models, he doesn't see production starting until early third quarter.
