Apple releases iTunes 12.5.5 with minor improvements

Apple on Monday released a new version of its desktop media management software iTunes. Labeled build 12.5.5, the update can be installed via the Updates section of the Mac App Store, or by clicking the Check for Updates option in the iTunes Menu Bar.

The move follows a number of updates Apple seeded this morning, including iOS 10.2.1, tvOS 10.1.1, watchOS 3.1.3, and macOS Sierra 10.12.3. It also seems along similar lines, with more under-the-hood performance improvements rather than new features.

“This update includes minor app and performance improvements.”

A little over a month ago, Apple released iTunes 12.5.4 with various improvements, including official support for the just-released “TV” app and the ability to quickly scrub back and forth throughout your media using the new Touch Bar feature on MacBook Pro.
