- Why care? A native app will enhance the Apple TV+ experience on Android devices, which currently must use Apple’s web app in a browser at tv.apple.com.
- What to do? You’ll download the app when Apple publishes it.
Apple TV app for Android rumored to launch soon
ShrimpApplePro made the prediction on Twitter, saying the Cupertino company is currently testing a native Apple TV for Android app that should launch soon without providing a specific timeframe. The same source accurately leaked the iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island design and packaging for the device, MacRumors notes.
Although Apple provides the TV app in versions for streaming boxes powered by the Android TV operating system, like Chromecast with Google TV, owners of Android-powered smartphones and tablets must use the web app at tv.apple.com. A native app will bring a smoother, faster experience versus using the web app in a browser.
