Apple has brought new AI capabilities and other new features with the iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, macOS Sequoia 15.2 and other software updates.
To install an over-the-air update on your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > General > Software Update. On your Mac, go to System Settings > General > Software Update. To update your Apple Watch, select the My Watch tab in the companion Watch app on your iPhone and navigate to General > Software Update.
To download and install tvOS 18.2, click Settings > System > Software Updates and select Update Software. To update your HomePod, open the Home app on your iPhone, iPad or Mac, hit the … (ellipsis) menu in the top-right corner, and choose Home Settings > Software Update.
New features in iOS 18.2 and other Apple updates
There’s plenty to get excited about in these mid-cycle updates. iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2 and macOS Sequoia 15.2 bring six new Apple Intelligence features, including AI image creation from prompts, along with a bunch of quality-of-life improvements.
watchOS 11.2 lets you pause video recording on iPhone via the Camera Remote app, and there’s also a new All Rings Closed award in the Activity app. tvOS 18.2 brings the Snoopy screen safer and support for 21:9 projectors and a bunch of other video aspect ratios, like 16:9, 21:9, 2.37:1, 2.39:1, 2.40:1, DCI 4K and 32:9.
As for HomePod, Siri now supports natural language search for Apple Music queries, while the Enhance Dialogue feature has a new setting to hear speech more clearly over background sounds.
