If you’re a lover of all things PlayStation, then you may want to consider trying an app called TrophyBuddy by iOS developer Majd Alfhaily.
Released just this month, TrophyBuddy is a companion app that helps PlayStation fans unlock their inner completionist by providing guides to earn the coveted Platinum trophy, among other things.
TrophyBuddy also gives PlayStation owners a list of their PS4 and PS5 games (signing in with a Sony PlayStation account is required for this) as well as existing trophies.
Alfhaily said in a post shared to X (formerly Twitter) that they made TrophyBuddy due to getting back into playing videos games and enjoying the hunt associated with collecting trophies.
The developer’s primary motivation behind this app is to encourage more PlayStation owners to seek the Platinum trophy and to guide them through the process to earn it.
After you install TrophyBuddy, you can track your progress toward individual trophies in each game and view your existing trophy collection. You can even see which trophies you have yet to earn.
With comprehensive guides included, you can navigate earning trophies in every game and view a list of requirements. Community insights are also baked in, allowing you to see helpful advice from fellow trophy hunters.
One of the things I like about TrophyBuddy is that it has offline access support so that you can track your progress even without an internet connection. When you do have internet, the app will send you notifications about new trophy earnings.
You can download the TrophyBuddy app for free from the App Store, but be advised that the free version of the app only supports linking your PlayStation account, viewing your game titles, and viewing available trophies and their descriptions for your two most recently played games, including whether you’ve earned them or not.
You have the option of unlocking all the app’s features with a paid subscription, which unlocks trophy details for more than only your two most recently played games, push notifications for earning new trophies, and perhaps most importantly, guides that can help you earn trophies.
The paid subscriptions include a 1-month silver pass for $0.99 and a 1-year gold pass for $3.99.
