Animate your iPhone’s mundane notifications with the new Bloom jailbreak tweak

There’s no doubt about the fact that people are just starting to get bored of the iOS notification system. After all, Apple hasn’t done very much to change it in the past several years, leaving users feeling a little stale.

Fortunately, iOS developer yandevelop has just released a new jailbreak tweak called Bloom that introduces a bevy of captivating new notification-centric animations that will keep you interested every time a new notification comes across your iPhone’s screen.

With Bloom, you’ll get OLED display-friendly animated effects that match the color of the app icon you’re receiving a notification from. Those animations may include particles that spout from the notch at the top of your screen (much like to the Notchification jailbreak tweak that we showed you back in 2018) or you can instead opt for display outlining animations that move about your screen in various ways.

These animations not only look cool, but they give your iPhone a new degree of differentiation from the normal iPhone, which helps you stand out from the crowd. For that reason, it’s a great way to get more people interested in jailbreaking.

Once installed, Bloom adds a dedicated preference pane to the Settings app where you can configure several options to your liking:

Things you can do here include:

  • Toggling Bloom on or off on demand
  • Enabling Bloom on the Lock Screen, throughout SpringBoard, or both
  • Configuring animations
    • Choosing between the following animation types:
      • Pulse
      • Outline
      • Particles
      • Contrary
      • Symmetric
    • Choose how many times the animation will repeat
    • Choose the animation speed
    • Choose whether the animation takes its color from the app icon or uses a static color you choose
    • View a test animation to see how it would look
  • Enable or disable Bloom when Do Not Disturb mode is turned on
  • Black out the Lock Screen during the animation for a more dramatic effect
  • And more…

Given the mundane nature of the standard iOS notification system, we think that Bloom gives users a fun new way to see that they’re being notified by apps and to interact with those notifications in an exciting way.

If you’re interested in giving the Bloom jailbreak tweak a try, then you can currently purchase it for $1.99 from the Havoc repository via your favorite package manager app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 14, 15, and 16 devices.
