PunchClock Shift Work Calendar, 2KWealth, Petigo, and other apps to check out this weekend

No, you aren’t dreaming. It really is the weekend, and that means it’s time for another Apps of the Week roundup! This week we have some great picks for you including a shift-based work calendar, a budget-tracker with personalized financial advice, and a social media network for pets. And as always, we’ve selected a fun new game for you to check out.

PunchClock Shift Work Calendar

PunchClock is your go-to pocket shift-tracking calendar. It allows you to create shift types, apply them to your calendar, receive alerts for upcoming shifts, track shift patterns, and even apply specific details to individual shifts with a notes feature. I’m thinking this is for servers, bartenders, and other occupations that revolve more around shifts than a normal 9-to-5 work schedule. I can’t tell if you can just use it for your own personal work calendar, or if I’m just trying to find an excuse to use it because the orange, purple and black look so sharp together. Oh, and there’s an Apple Watch app!

2KWealth: Personal Money Coach

Ok, if I’m being honest, I don’t love the name ‘2KWealth.’ It sounds like a video game title, or a multilevel marketing scheme. But beyond that, the app is interesting. Its goal is to “empower you with the tools and insights needed to make informed financial decisions and foster conscious spending habits.” It does this with the usual budgeting features that allow you to track where you’re spending your money, but the twist is you can actually contact a financial advisor—which it calls a ‘money buddy’—through the app to make better informed financial decisions.

Petigo – Connecting Pet Lovers

This is a social media app for pets. Seriously, that’s what it is, and that’s really all you need to know. It’s exactly what you’d expect for a social media app built around animals. You can upload photos and videos of your pets, create a profiles for them, and connect with other pet-lovers. There are notifications, birthday alerts, and reactions like wagging tails and…purring. I feel like we’ve seen a few of these over the years, but none of them ever really gained much traction. Will this be the one? There’s only one way to find out.

Destructomath+

That’s right. This week’s game is Destructomath+, a math-based game of beat-the-clock that will put your brain and your blood pressure to the test. You have 60 seconds to score as many points as possible by connecting blocks that add up to the target number. You have to think quickly to clear the board in the fewest moves possible, while also planning a few moves ahead and using the blocks and bombs strategically. There are plenty of themes to pick from, Game Center leaderboards that update daily, and the game is free with infrequent ads. What more could you want? I also love the marketing tag line, “mathletes LOVE it.”
