Brickd, Guap, NutriNote, and other apps to check out this weekend

It’s the weekend again everyone, which means it’s time for another Apps of the Week roundup! This week we have some great selections for you including a platform for LEGO-lovers, a minimal budget tracker, and an AI-infused nutrition app. And as always, we have a fun new game for you to check out.

Brickd

We’ll kick things off this week with a very, very niche app called Brickd. As you can probably guess from the above screenshots, it’s essentially a platform for LEGO fans. You can use it to organize your collection, keep track of sets, pieces, and themes, as well as to discover new sets. You can also connect with fellow builders and fuel your passion for bricks, together. Hey, hobbies are cool and apps that help humans connect on common grounds are even cooler. Thumbs up all around.

Guap – Budget Planner App

Guap is a cool slang term for [a lot of] money, so naturally it makes for an awesome name for a budget-planning app. And that’s what this is—a simple budget planner that can help you keep track of your income and expenses over time. The indy, notebook-esque design isn’t going to be for everyone, but the app’s dialed back demeanor might make it less intimidating and thus more approachable for some users, which is kind of the whole point, right? If you’re on the lookout for a no-frills, easy-to-use budget tracker, check out Guap.

NutriNote

NutriNote bills itself as a one-stop shop for both nutrition and fitness, and it’s packed full of features. It has a product scanner that gives you. instant access to comprehensive nutritional information, built-in meal plans, create-your-own meal plans, and you can connect with friends and family through the app to share tips, celebrate wins, and offer motivation. At the heart of the app is a powerful ML algorithm that learns your patterns, offers suggestions, and guides you to better health. The app looks and feels impressive, and thus far it doesn’t seem to be bogged down by IAPs. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in the market.

Flying Tank

This isn’t a brand new game, it’s just new to iOS, and from the few minutes I’ve spent with it thus far, I have to say it’s freaking awesome. For those that aren’t familiar with it, Flying Tank is a side-scrolling shooter in which you blast aliens and collect power-ups. It offers great graphics and sound effects, an immersive storyline, 24 missions, 18+ boss fights, customizable tanks, and Bluetooth controller support. But honestly, you don’t even need a gamepad—the touch controls are super clever. Dragging your finger on the left half of your device’s screen controls movement, and gestures on the right side control your weapons. It honestly reminds of the magic we felt with some of those early iPhone touchscreen games. No ads. No microtransactions. First 8 missions are free. This one is worth checking out for sure.
