My favorite accessories for the Apple Watch Ultra 2

Just like a lot of other people, I received my Apple Watch Ultra 2 on launch day. I traded in my original Apple Watch Ultra because I wanted the newer model; not that it was a significant upgrade, but I appreciate the newer features such as the Double Tap gesture and the brighter 3,000-nit display.

Best Apple Watch Ultra 2 Accessories

With a little luck, perhaps you’ll find something you want in this list and draw up some inspiration to acquire your own.

My favorite Apple Watch Ultra 2 accessories

mophie 3-in-1 travel charger with MagSafe

mopie 3-in-1 travel charger with MagSafe.

The Apple Watch is something that I take everywhere, including my hotel stays. That said, when it needs to be charged, I must have some kind of portable power solution, and my regular nightstand charger won’t cut it because it’s just way too bulky to fit into a travel bag. That’s where mophie’s convenient 3-in-1 travel charger with MagSafe comes into play…

This foldable 3-in-1 charger offers an Apple-certified Apple Watch charging puck that features fast-charging capabilities, and as a bonus, also includes a built-in MagSafe charging puck for my iPhone and a Qi wireless charging spot for my AirPods Pro 2.

This charger folds up into a piece about half the size of my iPhone 15 Pro Max when not in use, and when it is in use, it unfolds flat into a piece about as long as two iPhone 15 Pro Maxes laid top-to-bottom on whatever table I lay it on.

What I love about this charger is that it comes with a carrying pouch that includes everything you need to set it up, including a USB-C power adapter and a cable. That said, you just throw it into your packing bag and you’ve got power for everything you brought with you – even if your iPad or Mac if you use just the power adapter and included USB-C cable and leave the 3-in-1 charger in the pouch. It’s so handy!

You can get a mophie 3-in-1 travel charger with MagSafe from mophie direct for $149.95.

Nomad Titanium Band

Nomad titanium band for Apple Watch.

Your choice in Apple Watch band is a personal one that you’ll have to make based on how you use your Apple Watch, but I’ve found no better option for the rugged and titanium-based Apple Watch Ultra series than the Nomad Titanium band.

It’s pricey, but you get what you pay for. There are a few different titanium bands on the market for the Apple Watch, but none come close to Nomad’s quality. You feel it in the weight, the close tolerances, and the magnetic clasping mechanism. It’s built to last and there’s absolutely no play in any of the moving parts.

Perhaps my top reason for recommending the Nomad Titanium band is just how easy it is to take on or off. It uses a magnetic locking clasp mechanism, so there aren’t any finnicky hinges to deal with. The included tool also makes sizing the band to your wrist an effortless endeavor.

The finish of Nomad’s Titanium Band is basically identical to any Apple Watch Ultra series wearable too, so it almost looks like it was made by Apple to complete the look.

You can procure a Nomad Titanium band from Nomad direct for $300. Buy once and cry once; it’s worth it.

Twelve South TimePorter

TwelveSouth TimePorter

I’ve spent a lot of time collecting Apple Watch bands over the years, and with my collection growing so quickly, I’ve always wanted to hang my bands up for display sort like how I do my clothes in my closet.

Twelve South recently came out with their TimePorter accessory that did exactly that, so it should come as no surprise that I acquired a few of them.

Each one can hold 6 Apple Watch bands, but you can link them together to make your mounting surface as long as you need. They attach to your wall using 3M adhesive, and since Apple Watch bands are particularly light, you don’t need to worry about additional weight pulling them down over time.

Twelve South’s unique design utilizes silicone grips that you force one end of the Apple Watch band’s lug into. It holds onto those bands tightly enough, providing just enough give for you to tug them out when you’re ready to use them again.

If you’re anything like me and you like keeping your stuff organized, you should seriously consider a Twelve South TimePorter for your setup.

You can acquire a Twelve South TimePorter from Amazon or from Twelve South direct for $29.99, however you will find that Amazon offers free and fast Prime shipping with your purchase.

Zagg InvisibleShield Glass XTR3 screen protector

Zagg InvisibleShield Glass XTR for Apple Watch Ultra.

I don’t usually put screen protection on my Apple Watches because I think of them more or less like jewelry, but the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is something different entirely – a rugged beast intended to be used in harsh conditions. That will change your outlook a little bit…

I trust in the Zagg InvisibleShield Glass XTR3 screen protector to prevent unwanted scratches and shattering to my Apple Watch’s display. While I already feel plenty comfortable enough in the sapphire crystal display and with the raised titanium at every edge, I always fear head-on impacts to the face of the glass could cause it to shatter, so I want to prevent that.

Just like the iPhone version of this screen protector, the Apple Watch Ultra version features blue light filtering, an anti-reflective coating, and an ultra-smooth touch surface so that you almost won’t even realize it’s there.

You can pick up a Zagg InvisibleShield Glass XTR3 screen protector for your Apple Watch Ultra or Ultra 2 from Zagg direct for $39.99.

Urban Armor Gear Scout Case

Urban Armor Gear Scout Case for Apple Watch Ultra.

Sometimes you’re going to be wearing your Apple Watch Ultra 2 in an otherwise dangerous environment, and when that happens, you will appreciate having a little bit of extra dent and scratch protection than the bare titanium the device dons.

I really like the Urban Armor Gear Scout case for this necessity, as it’s a particularly low-profile case that works nicely with my Zagg InvisibleShield Glass XTR3 screen protector for maximum all-around protection.

What you get with the Scout is a protective layer that shields all four sides of the Apple Watch Ultra 2’s square case, along with a raised edge that surrounds the chunk of metal around the Digital Crown and a beveled edge that rises above the display to prevent things from touching it.

Another thing I can really appreciate about the UAG Scout case is that unlike a lot of other Apple Watch cases, you don’t need to remove your Apple Watch strap to put it on and take it off. This saves a lot of time and prevents a ton of frustration as a result.

You will find the UAG Scout is available in several different colors, but for a muted look, I went with black. It’s kind of nice because Apple never bothered to give us a black Apple Watch Ultra, and it remains to be seen if they ever will. It’s also worth noting that the case fits both the original Apple Watch Ultra and the newer Ultra 2.

You can pick up an Urban Armor Gear Scout case for your Apple Watch Ultra or Apple Watch Ultra 2 from Amazon with free Prime shipping for $19.99.

Final Thoughts

Given that the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is in and of itself an accessory for the iPhone 15 Pro Max that I’m using, it was a challenge to come up with a list of accessories for it. This required thinking of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 as its own device as opposed to an accessory, otherwise I would have had a lot of overlap between this and my favorite accessories for iPhone 15 Pro Max piece.
