Meowbrek2 kfd-based re-jailbreaking utility for palera1n updated to version 1.1.6-beta

Users of the meowbrek2 re-jailbreaking utility for the palera1n semi-tethered jailbreak tool for checkm8 devices may be excited to learn that an updated version of the tool, coined version 1.1.6 beta, was released this Sunday evening.

Meowbrek2 v1.1.6 beta has been announced.

Project lead developer @dora2ios announced the latest version of meowbrek2 in their Discord server, noting that it would bring the following changes from the previous version:

– Updated systemhooks
– Support installation of ElleKit tweak injection

The meowbrek2 re-jailbreaking utility allows a palera1n jailbreak user to re-jailbreak their device without using a computer after rebooting said device and starting up into a non-jailbroken state. In essence, this means that it can make an otherwise semi-tethered jailbreak feel more like a semi-untethered jailbreak experience.

The kernel file descriptor (kfd) exploit is at the core of the meowbrek2 re-jailbreaking utility. It supports A8-A11 chip-equipped devices that run iOS or iPadOS 15.0-15.8; that is, as long as the device was jailbroken with the palera1n tool beforehand.

If you were using a previous version of meowbrek2, then it’s strongly recommended that you install the latest version at your earliest convenience. The improvements to tweak injection alone are likely worth it. You can safely download the latest .tipa file and perma-sign it with TrollStore over your existing installation, then reboot and re-jailbreak with it to install the latest patches.

New or prospective users must simply have a palera1n-jailbroken device running iOS or iPadOS 15.0-15.8 at their disposal before using. If you do, then you can download and perma-sign the meowbrek2 app via the project’s GitHub page and reboot your device to re-jailbreak with it.
