This tweak removes the “Confidential & Proprietary” message on the Lock Screen after using Serotonin

If you’ve used the Serotonin systemwide tweak injection utility (also sometimes referred to as a “semi-jailbreak” by some) for the RootHide bootstrap since its launch, then you’ve likely happened upon the “Confidential & Proprietary, Call +X XXX-XXX-XXXX” message that appears at the bottom of your Lock Screen.

To some users, this is considered a flag that the utility worked. For others, it’s a visual anomaly that they’d rather not see. Fortunately, one iOS developer by the name of flameaway has launched a free tweak dubbed RemoveConfidential that you can install on the Serotonin semi-jailbreak to remove this text from your Lock Screen.

Some users observed the message and were concerned that it may have done something bad to their device, but as iOS developer @alfiecg_dev explained in a responding comment in a thread shared to /r/jailbreak this week, it’s actually caused because Serotonin tricks SpringBoard into thinking you’re using an internal build of iOS.

The message in and of itself isn’t harmful, but it may be unsightly to end users, hence why this new tweak has been released. With it, you can continue to use Serotonin as you normally would, but without the aesthetic consequence of this message littering your Lock Screen.

It should be noted that RemoveConfidential is only intended for the Serotonin “semi-jailbreak” for the RootHide development team’s Procursus-based bootstrap. If you’re using a true full-fledged jailbreak such as Dopamine or palera1n, then you don’t need this add-on.

If you’re interested in giving RemoveConfidential a try, then you can acquire the .deb file from the project’s GitHub page. Once downloaded, you can install it with the Sileo or Zebra package manager app that came with your bootstrap.

Are you going to take advantage of RemoveConfidential, or are you not using a “semi-jailbreak” in anticipation of the upcoming full-fledged jailbreak for iOS & iPadOS 16.0-16.5.1 on arm64e devices? Let us know in the comments section down below.
