Apple is reportedly testing iOS 17.1.1 with unknown iPhone bug fixes

Apple is allegedly testing an iOS 17.1.1 update for the iPhone that should bring unspecified iPhone bug fixes when it drops later in November.

Some sites now see iOS 17.1.1 in their analytics logs, indicating Apple is internally testing this update. Given the minor version number jump, iOS 17.1.1 definitely looks to be a bug-fix release with no user-faced new features.

iOS 17.1.1 coming soon, may include several bug fixes

MacRumors says iOS 17.1.1 could fix Wi-Fi connectivity issues. iOS 17.2, which arrives in December, has the same fix for the Wi-Fi problem.

Another potential fix in iOS 17.1.1 could resolve a problem where some iPhones temporarily shut down or restart overnight “for users still experiencing” that problem.

Another annoying issue plaguing some iPhone 15 owners is causing hiccups with BMW’s wireless charging system, with a fix coming in an update later this year. Also, iOS 17.1.1 will most likely bring a fix for excessive battery drain that some Apple Watch owners complained about after installing watchOS 10.1.

We’ll soon know exactly what fixes iOS 17.1.1 contains after Apple launches the software update to the public within the next few weeks.

As mentioned earlier, the Cupertino company is also testing the iOS 17.2 update that will bring several new features, including Apple’s new Journal app, Apple Music changes, iMessage Contact Key Verification, new widgets, the ability to invoke translation with a press of the Action button, and more.
