Dopamine jailbreak updated to version 1.1.9, includes beta build of kfd-based version

Dopamine lead developer Lars Fröder (@opa334dev) released another update to the iOS & iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1-centric jailbreak tool for arm64e devices late Friday night in the form of version 1.1.9.

Dopamine version 1.1.9.

The newest version of Dopamine, announced via social media platform X (formerly Twitter), brings the following changes over the previous public release:

– Fix a bug where jailbreakd would crash while parsing a malformed MachO with an empty dependency path, this issue also prevented re-jailbreaking if such a file existed somewhere inside /var/jb
– Also parse LC_LAZY_LOAD_DYLIB and LC_LOAD_UPWARD_DYLIB when scanning for dependencies to add to TrustCache
– Make execvp and execvP function reimplementations behave more closely to their stock implementations

In addition to these changes, the latest release includes a secondary .tipa on the GutHub page called KFDopamine-BETA.tipa, which is an experimental version of the tool that uses the kfd exploit instead of oobPCI.

This beta build has a slightly less reliable PAC bypass, but adds support for iOS & iPadOS 15.5 beta 1 through 15.5 beta 3 and removes the Wi-Fi fix up for iOS & iPadOS versions 15.0-15.1.1.

In a follow-up Tweet, Fröder said this is likely the final update for Dopamine before version 2.0 launches, which is unlikely to be this year. Version 2.0 will purportedly replace oobPCI with kfd and implement support for the aforementioned beta firmware, as well as offer an exploit picker. The beta above is something of a stop-gap that people can test out beforehand if they wish. As it’s a beta, bugs and issues should be expected.

If you’re an existing user of the Dopamine jailbreak, then you can download the latest .tipa from the GitHub page and perma-sign it with TrollStore over your existing installation at your earliest convenience.
