You get ten expansion ports over a single USB4 cable and support for two Thunderbolt 4 devices simultaneously. Also, passthrough 100W USB charging will fast-charge your 14-inch M1 Pro MacBook Pro from dead to fifty percent in 30 minutes. This thing is available on Amazon for $289.95 with a $15 off coupon.

The accessory works with both Mac and Windows computers and ships with a bundled Thunderbolt 4 cable and a USB-C to HDMI adapter. As a result, you can connect the docking station to dual 4K displays without buying extra hardware.

Taking advantage of bi-directional bandwidth, it enables the maximum theoretically 40Gbps throughput across each of its three Thunderbolt 4 ports: one for your computer and the other two for external devices.

Unlike the vast majority of similar docking stations based on Thunderbolt, Plugable’s product provides not one but two downstream Thunderbolt 4 ports for greater flexibility in terms of external storage, displays and more.

Native HDMI 2.0 video output supports 4K resolution at the 60Hz refresh rate on both external displays at once, which is pretty great. So, even if your MacBook lacks an HDMI port, you can connect it to TVs with this docking station.

The dual-display feature is only available on the M1 Pro/Max and M2 Pro/Max MacBooks. Or, you can go big with a single 8K 30Hz display via Thunderbolt 4.

10 ports over a single connection

Aside from the two downstream Thunderbolt ports and one upstream USB4 connection, Plugable’s accessory has a plethora of other ports:

  • 4x USB-A ports at 10 Gbps
  • 1x Ethernet port at 2.5Gbps
  • 1x SD card reader at UHS-II speeds up to 312MB/s
  • 1x upstream Thunderbolt port at 40 Gbps
  • 2x downstream Thunderbolt ports at 40 Gbps each
  • 1x headphone jack
  • 1x HDMI 2.0
  • 1x power in (20V/6.75A)
