There’s an app for quickly collecting and organizing content, a guided CBT journal for mindfulness, and a gamified task manager. And as always, we’ve selected a fun game for you to check out.
Glasp
Glasp is an app that lets you quickly capture online content with colored highlighting options, which are then automatically curated to your Glasp homepage. These highlights can then be tagged, searched for, linked to, and shared on a variety of platforms. It’s like a modern twist on the old read-it-later format, allowing you to collect content across all of your devices with a single tap or click. Also, what a great name. One word; easy to spell. It almost sounds like a real word. Glasp.
Unstuck: Overcome Anxiety
If you’ve been reading our Apps of the Week column for a while, you know I love to highlight all different kinds of mindfulness apps. You just never know what is going to resonate with people, and even if only one person downloads the app and finds it useful, it’s worth it. Anyway, Unstuck is a guided CBT journal that seeks to help you overcome anxiety and depression by highlighting positive things and managing unhelpful thinking patterns. Unstuck: another great, single-word app name.
HeroMode: Joyful Tasks & Goals
Speaking of apps that help with self improvement, check out HeroMode. It’s a habit-tracker and task manager for people who like vintage video games. Seriously, it makes a game out of your tasks and to-do lists to give you motivation. You go on quests to complete bite-size action items, earn points by completing quests, and you can even complete tasks with a friend — co-op mode! You can track habits, schedule reminders, and sync to other devices. It won’t be for everyone, but hey, what app is?
