Mujjo Full Leather Case for iPhone 15

best leather cases for iPhone 15

We’ve been fans of Mujjo’s leather cases for a long time here at iDB. They just look, feel, and even smell high quality. The cases are made with premium European leather, tanned in the Netherlands, and they feature machined-metal buttons, satin-like microfibre lining, and a 1mm raised bezel to protect the screen from abrasive surfaces. They also include full support for MagSafe accessories, and come in 3 colorways: Light Tan, Black, and Monaco (midnight) Blue.  $60

Mous Limitless 5.0 Leather Case for iPhone 15

best iPhone 15 leather cases

If you want something a little more fun and edgy, check out the Mous Limitless 5.0 case. It uses premium black leather (black is the only leather colorway option), but it’s only used on about 70% of the rear panel, rather than on the entire cover. Other features include full MagSafe support, a raised lip around the display and rear camera for drop protection, and textured side walls for enhanced grip. It also comes with a limited lifetime warranty. $65

Torro Premium Leather Wallet Case for iPhone 15

best iPhone 15 leather case

If you’re looking for a folio or wallet-style case that won’t break the bank, Torro might be worth considering. It’s a UK company that sources its leather from the top tanneries in the US, which it says gets minimally treated to “preserve the natural properties.” The case itself resembles a small journal or notebook, and it features a magnetic clasp, 3 credit card slots, 1 cash compartment, a rigid TPU shell, and a folding design that lets the cover double as a kickstand. $43

Sandmarc Pro Leather Case for iPhone 15 Pro

leather iPhone 15 cases

The Sandmarc Pro looks and performs like a standard full-grain leather case, but it houses some unique abilities that make it particularly interesting. The aluminum piece that sits over the rear camera for protection also doubles as a lens mount for Sandmarc’s propriety iPhone lens kits and accessories. So while it would work just fine as a standard leather case (it even has full MagSafe support), it has a ton of potential as a tool for iPhone photography. The site says they won’t start shipping until October, but since that’s just a few days away, we’re including it here. $50

FAQ

Does MagSafe support mean built-in magnets?

Typically, yes. If a case fully supports MagSafe chargers and accessories, it will have built-in magnets that both securely attach it to your phone, and allow the use of other MagSafe accessories such as a wireless-charge or MagSafe wallet. We have on occasion seen manufacturers claim MagSafe ‘compatibility’ due to the thinness of their cases, but this is misleading — you should always confirm full MagSafe support if you intend to use MagSafe accessories, and you can confirm this by looking for the MagSafe circle (the magnets) on the inside/outside of the case.

Will the leather case scratch my phone?

No, as typically the inside of these cases contains a soft microfiber lining that prevent any scratching. You can verify this in our descriptions above, or on the case’s product page.

Will the leather case still work with my wireless charger?

If you are using a MagSafe charger, and the leather case has built-in MagSafe magnets, then yes, you will still be able to wirelessly charge your devices without removing the case. If you are just using a standard (Qi) wireless charger, then you may have to remove your case to wireless charge, as many leather cases are too thick to charge through.

Are Apple’s new FineWoven cases the same as leather?

No, Apple has announced that it will no longer be making leather cases for environmental reasons. The new FineWoven case is made from a ‘durable microtwill,’ which Apple says has a soft, suedelike feel. It’s made from 68 percent post-consumer recycled content and significantly reduces carbon emissions compared to leather.

Is eco-tanned leather the same as faux leather?

No. Eco-tanned leather is real leather that has been tanned using eco-friendly processes. These processes must typically meet some sort of requirements set forth by a governing body or authority.
