Misaka package manager for MacDirtyCow devices updated to v1.9.0 with several improvements

Misaka, the premier package manager app for devices utilizing the MacDirtyCow exploit on iOS 15.x-16.1.2, received another update this week, officially bringing it up to version 1.9.0.

Misaka v1.9.0 update.

The update, announced via the Misaka Discord server bright and early Monday morning, appears to introduce the following changes:

– Improve the MacDirtyCow code
– Improve translations
– Fix an issue where URL scheme wouldn’t work
– Fix user interface issues
– Added support for the Polish language
– Added a button to delete the app cache
– Added a button to package pages share links to them
– And more…

If you’re an existing Misaka user and you’re running a version older than 1.9.0, then you’ll be prompted to install the latest update with a pop-up at next launch that looks like the one shown below:

Misaka prompts the user to update.

While Misaka isn’t required to take advantage of add-ons that utilize the MacDirtyCow exploit on iOS & iPadOS 15.0-16.1.2, it’s still useful because it works as a centralized place to get all your favorite add-ons with ease.

Misaka doesn’t require a jailbreak to install, but it works similarly to a package manager on jailbroken devices, such as Sileo or Cydia, except that it installs MacDirtyCow add-ons instead of jailbreak tweaks.

If you aren’t already taking advantage of Misaka, and you’d like to, then you can follow the steps outlined in our step-by-step tutorial post to learn more about getting started.
