Normally, the Lock Screen’s Camera-centric Quick Action button works a shortcut that brings you to your iPhone’s Camera app so that you can quickly snap a photograph or record a video, but what if the process could be just a little faster for those power-users out there?
A newly released jailbreak tweak called InstantCamera by iOS developer sourcelocation does exactly that by replacing the Quick Action button’s ordinary Camera app-launching functionality with taking a photograph instead.
In doing so, you can completely skip the step of launching the Camera app interface and composing your shot because the InstantCamera tweak immediately takes a picture of whatever your camera might be pointing at in the moment that you utilize the Lock Screen’s Camera-centric Quick Action button.
The benefit of InstantCamera is the clever instantaneous feel that comes from being able to immediately capture life’s moments without having to scurry around in the Camera app’s user interface.
One thing worth noting is that some shots require longer exposure than others, so if you’re using InstantCamera, you may want to ensure that your lighting is ideal before taking an instantaneous shot with it, otherwise the image might come out blurry or underexposed.
InstantCamera doesn’t come with any options to configure, so what you see is essentially what you get. We appreciate the simplicity there.
