For this reason it’s not uncommon to see jailbreak tweak developers releasing add-ons that add or enhance haptic feedback features on their devices, and one such tweak would be TabBaraptic by iOS developer CydiaGeek.

TabBaraptic is far from a new tweak, but recently, it picked up support for rootless jailbreaks on iOS 15 and 16, including the likes of Dopamine and palera1n.

Once installed, TabBaraptic adds haptic feedback to the simple action of tapping on the tab bars buttons within apps — these are the buttons that traditionally appear at the bottom of apps, such as in the App Store, as shown above, where each tab lends its own user interface.

TabBaraptic adds a dedicated preference pane to the Settings app post-installation where users are free to configure their haptic feedback strength:

Options here include:

  • Light haptic feedback
  • Medium haptic feedback
  • Strong haptic feedback
  • Respring your device
