AIM Pro iOS 16-style Lock Screen customization tweak picks up rootless jailbreak support

Back in March, we showed you a jailbreak tweak called AIM Pro by iOS developer AliMaulana that offered comprehensive Lock Screen interface customization right from the comfort of your Lock Screen.

This week, we’re excited to report that AIM Pro has received preliminary support for rootless jailbreaks on iOS 15 and 16, including the likes of Dopamine and palera1n.

AIM Pro was intended to provide jailbreakers with an iOS 16-like Lock Screen customization experience, and it was entirely possible to mimic one of iOS 16’s native Lock Screen designs on a non-iOS 16 device with the tweak.

It’s worth noting, however, that AIM Pro comes with a slew of additional customization options that make it far more powerful than iOS 16 ever could have hoped to be, and that’s because it wasn’t created in Apple’s typical dumbed-down fashion, but rather by a jailbreak tweak developer who enjoys tinkering with their device.

AIM Pro differs from the original, free AIM jailbreak tweak because it allows the user to make changes in real time to their Lock Screen directly from the Lock Screen itself, just like on iOS 16. The free AIM tweak, on the other hand, only allowed for customization via a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app, which wasn’t as convenient or fun to do.

Regardless, AIM Pro still added a dedicated preference pane to the Settings app for users who still preferred to customize things the old-fashioned way, and in the screenshot example below, you can see just how extensive those options were:

If you do plan on using AIM Pro with a rootless device, the developer warns that you must install Legacy arm64e Support from the ElleKit repository before installing AIM Pro. This appears to be a framework that allows for legacy arm64e ABI on iOS 15 and later.

To learn more about what AIM Pro lets you do on the Lock Screen before deciding to pull the trigger, we recommend heading over to our in-depth review where we outline all the options in detail. The tweak is available for $1.49 from the Havoc repository and supports jailbroken iOS 14, 15, and 16 devices.
