LastLook always-on display tweak for jailbroken handsets adds rootless support

Great news for anyone who might be using a rootless jailbreak on iOS 15 or 16, and I’m talking about Dopamine and palera1n jailbreak users… iOS developer AnthoPak has just updated his popular LastLook always-on display jailbreak tweak to support the latest tools and the rootless dynamic.

Last look available in Chariz repository.

If you’re not using an iPhone 14 Pro or 14 Pro Max, and you’re looking for an advanced always-on display user experience that puts even the native Apple always-on display to shame, then LastLook is a great place to start.

This powerful add-on makes you well aware of any missed notifications by way of colorful indicators, lets you see whatever media you might have playing at any given time, and supports a wide array of widgets, add-ons, and jailbreak tweaks for the Lock Screen so that you can stack your tweak experienced on top of one another for a slick UI that won’t look anything like anyone else’s.

Also unique to LastLook are the dual always-on display modes. The first mode is comprehensive and shows a lot of information for a limited time after locking your device. The second mode is more simplified and takes over once the comprehensive view times out and disappears. Each of these are configurable so that you can make them behave how you want.

As you might come to expect, LastLook is a configurable tweak that adds a preference pane to the Settings app once installed, and this is important given just how much you can do with it:

LastLook options to configure.

Here, you can:

  • Enable or disable LastLook on demand
  • Configure the two always-on display modes:
    • Short mode
    • AOD mode
  • Choose which items will remain on the screen when the always-on display becomes active:
    • Stock items
    • Jailbreak tweaks and other add-ons
  • Configure notification indicators
  • Configure battery indicators
  • Configure ambient always-on display mode
  • Configure gestures to your liking
  • Make adjustments to your Lock Screen’s user interface to suit your needs

If you already own LastLook, then the latest update with rootless support on jailbroken iOS 15 and 16 devices is a free upgrade. Those who don’t already own LastLook, and would like to try it for the first time, can purchase it for $2.99 from the Chariz repository via their favorite package manager app.
