Earlier this week, Apple officially announced the 2023 Apple Watch Pride Edition band, that celebrates the LGBTQ+ community. In traditional fashion, iOS and watchOS users can also expect a new Pride Celebration iOS wallpaper and Apple Watch face. While waiting for the official version, download this similarly inspired version in our Wallpapers of the Week gallery.
Apple Pride inspired wallpaper
According to Apple’s official press release,
The new Pride Celebration watch face and iOS wallpaper honor the combined strength and mutual support of the LGBTQ+ community. Colorful shapes appear to circulate into the watch display from the band, and respond when a user raises and moves their wrist or taps the display. The corresponding wallpaper is another vibrant interpretations of this year’s Pride design and dynamically moves when the user unlocks their iPhone.
Availability for the official Apple wallpapers will come with the watchOS 9.5 and iOS 16.5 updates, expected sometime the week of May 15, just in time for Pride in June.
For a current download, popular wallpaper graphic designer @AR72014 took inspiration from the official, unreleased Apple version. Replicating with some minor variations, the ARR72014 version captures the experience and motivation of the future official option.
Because it wouldn’t be an official Wallpaper of the Week posting with just a single download, the following five downloads round out the collection. Capturing the same color scheme, these incredible photos make for fun iPhone Lock or Home Screen backgrounds.
The following images were curated from unsplash.com, a social network for photographers and graphic artists to share full resolution downloads in license free options. I did not alter or crop the images in anyway to allow a full canvas for the wallpaper to be set as you prefer.
