Dopamine jailbreak updated to v1.0.5 with even more bug fixes & improvements

Dopamine jailbreak lead developer Lars Fröder took to Twitter Friday evening to announce the release of an updated version of the Dopamine jailbreak, dubbed version 1.0.5.

Dopamine jailbreak updated to v1.0.5.

According to the change log, Dopamine v1.0.5 brings the following improvements for end users:

– Fix an issue with forkfix where it would break reinstalling dpkg
– Automatically fix the permissions of /private/preboot/<UUID> when jailbreaking in case they are wrong (Wrong permissions can cause SSH / NewTerm to not work)

Obviously, this update is recommended for all Dopamine jailbreak users. The latest bug fixes and improvements ensure that users have the best experience possible when using the jailbreak, preventing unwanted issues that may be observed in previous, outdated releases.

If you’re an existing Dopamine jailbreak user, then you’re going to be able to download and install this update over the air (OTA) via the download link at the bottom of the app:

Dopamine OTA update

If you’re new to Dopamine, then you can acquire the latest .tipa file from the project’s GitHub page, where the jailbreak is also open source. You a can use our step-by-step tutorial to get jailbroken with Dopamine if you aren’t sure how to get started.

Dopamine is a rootless jailbreak for A12-A15 devices that supports iOS & iPadOS versions 15.0-15.4.1. It can be installed and permanently signed using TrollStore, a superior installation method compared to sideloading that doesn’t need to be re-signed, ever. This means that it’s always easy to get re-jailbroken again after reboots.

If you aren’t sure what a rootless jailbreak is, don’t fret. There are some technical differences from a rootful jailbreak that you can read about in our F.A.Q. post, but developers are already making the best of it and end users are unlikely to notice any substantial differences.
