CarBridge tweak that unlocks CarPlay-restricted apps in the car adds rootless jailbreak support for iOS 15 & 16

If you drive a CarPlay-enabled vehicle and you have a jailbroken iPhone, then you’d be doing yourself a serious injustice if you didn’t already own the CarBridge jailbreak tweak by iOS developer leftyfl1p.

Various apps that work with CarBridge.

CarBridge allows users to open virtually any app from their iPhone and then interact with it directly on their vehicle’s CarPlay-enabled head unit, and it just recently received an update that adds iOS 15 and 16 support in addition to rootless jailbreak support.

While CarBridge works with a lot of different apps, there are some unique exceptions, such as when an app supports DRM-enabled video playback or streaming, for obvious reasons.

As noted in the tweak depiction, the app will be displayed in the car in its original iPhone layout. You can effectively use this add-on to control your iPhone’s apps without touching your iPhone.

CarBridge allows you to operate your apps with touchscreen-enabled CarPlay head units, or with the Portal app on joystick-equipped head units.

It’s worth mentioning that some apps are disabled on CarPlay-enabled head units by default for safety reasons. If you will be using other apps by way or CarBridge, then you should not attempt to do so while driving, as this may be unsafe. Only a passenger should interface with non-CarPlay apps while a vehicle is in motion. You have been warned.

Those interested in trying CarBridge on their jailbroken handset can acquire the tweak for $9.99 from the Havoc repository via their favorite package manager app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 13, 14, 15, and 16 devices.
