Havoc repo adds built-in theme downloader to make applying themes on non-jailbroken devices even easier

Havoc, one of the most popular repositories to use on jailbroken devices to acquire jailbreak tweaks and other add-ons, made a significant announcement on Wednesday that will upgrade the user experience associated with downloading themes on non-jailbroken devices.

Havoc repo’s new theme downloader

From what we can gather, Havoc is celebrating its birthday by getting an all-new theme downloader that users can access from the website without a jailbroken device to quickly and easily download and apply a theme to their Home Screen without having to manually theme each app icon.

We tried the feature ourselves, and it seems to be incredibly easy to use. Upon visiting the Order page via Havoc.app in your favorite mobile web browser, you can tap on a theme you own, free or paid, and look for the blue Install Theme button:

When you tap the Install Theme button, the Havoc website now displays an icon picker where you can choose which app icons will be downloaded and applied to your Home Screen. This process will require the installation of a configuration profile, which manages the icon theming. You will need to install and trust this for it to work.

Many of the themes on the Havoc repository already support non-jailbroken devices. In the example above, we use Junipero, which we recently showed off to our readers.

Jailbreakers and non-jailbreakers alike should applaud this kind of ingenuity because it makes using iPhone and iPad customization methods easier for the end user, and therefore more approachable.
