The gallery update this week provides another set of creatively colorful designs, specifically for iPhone.

The following wallpapers are snagged from the incredibly long list of backgrounds created by graphic artist @MarcusBremen. While Marcus, who lives in Bremen, Germany, is a self proclaimed Android enthusiast, we can’t fault him on the wallpaper creativity. If you give him a follow on Twitter, you will quickly be flooded with an almost daily deluge of amazing wallpapers.

From his timeline, I snagged the following image collection. The combination of colors and shapes struck my interest and I decided to curate them for our iDB abstract gallery.

My favorite of the bunch is featured in the above hero image. The way the rainbow gradient plays through a milky-white background really makes the purple, blue and red colors pop.

We are coming up on the launch of iPhone 14 and iOS 16. As the wallpaper gallery curator, I am vastly interested in the customized Lock Screen capability in the new iOS version. Specifically, I love the idea of the clock and possibly widgets being obfuscated by the image details. This is very similar to the existing Apple Watch background capability.

I want to start collecting a series of images to drop when iOS 16 hits, that play well with the hide-the-clock interaction. If you have any wallpapers that you know work with this feature, please send them my way. Catch me via @jim_gresham, where I curate the wallpapers for the site. You can also find sneak peaks of upcoming posts, grab mid-week downloads, and follow along the Apple hardware fall lineup commentary.
