In this installment, find an incredible, iPhone optimized wallpaper of NASA’s recent Carina Nebula photo, as captured by the James Webb Space Telescope. The colorful image, dotted with stars, planets, and other galaxies, makes for a great canvas.

Per the NASA press release, “The James Webb Space Telescope is the world’s premier space science observatory. Webb will solve mysteries in our solar system, look beyond to distant worlds around other stars, and probe the mysterious structures and origins of our universe and our place in it. Webb is an international program led by NASA with its partners, ESA (Euro-pean Space Agency) and the Canadian Space Agency.”
The first wallpaper below is optimized by iDB regular, @AR72014. The background was modified from the much larger “Cosmic Cliffs” image, captured by the Webb telescope. “This landscape of ‘mountains’ and ‘valleys’ is actually the edge of a nearby stellar nursery called NGC 3324 at the northwest corner of the Carina Nebula.” The nebula is roughly 7,600 light-years away. The second image below is of the “Southern Ring Nebula,” also captured by NASA and optimized by @AR72014.
While we are on a space theme with the NASA iPhone wallpaper, the following two images are downloads matching the iOS 16 Earth images. One of the flagship new iOS 16 options is customizable Lock Screens, complete with new stock images and widgets for quick glances. The following two images are part of that update, where the Lock Screen includes the large, centered Earth image, while the Home Screen option leaves the top space for icons.
