We’re back with another edition of our Apps of the Week roundup. This week we have some great picks, including a Black Mirror-inspired video app, an impressive bill-splitter, and a fun doodle widget. We have all of this, plus a cool game for you to check out, waiting for you below!
Veil
Have you seen that Black Mirror episode about an implant that could filter things out in real time? That’s essentially what Veil is. The app lets you record videos whilst censoring people in real-time. There are a number of filters and effects, including a Curtain Mode for filtering backgrounds.
IOU
Here is an impressive bill-splitting app that uses OCR (optical character recognition) tech to scan your receipt and itemize its contents so you don’t have to do it manually. Just scan your tab, add people from your party and select what everyone ate/drank—it’ll take care of the rest.
Wynk Widget
This is pretty neat. We’ve all seen collaborative drawing apps, and drawing widgets, but what about collaborative drawing widgets? Meet Wynk Widget. It’s super easy to use: just draw an image using your finger or Apple Pencil and tap the big ‘Share’ button to share a link to your creation with friends.
Forest Island: Relaxing Game
Because I’m just an island boy! With Forest Island, you don’t have to travel far to enjoy the serendipity of the green forests, white beaches and turquoise waters of Mother Nature. The relaxing game offers calming music, a variety of sceneries and cute animals to help you relax and escape for a bit.
