Apple TV+ true-crime drama “Truth Be Told” returning for Season 2 with a new trailer

“Truth Be Told,” one of the successful Apple TV+ shows, is about to start streaming its second season, and now Apple has shared the official trailer ahead of “Truth Be Told” Season 2 premiere scheduled for next month.

After teasing Season 2 of “Truth Be Told” in January 2021 with a nice teaser trailer, Apple has now shared the first full trailer ahead of Season 2 premiere scheduled for August 20, 2021. Just a few months after the crime series made its inaugural debut on Apple T V+ in December 2020, Apple’s Hollywood team has renewed “Truth Be Told” for its second season.

In the new trailer, embedded right ahead, fans get to explore the struggles of the main character Poppy as she tries to balance her search for truth with maintaining both her friendship and her marriage.

The Apple TV+ crime show stars Octavia Spencer, who also starred in Season 1. Apple’s leaning into an anthology series with “Truth Be Told”, so while Aaron Paul co-starred in the first season, Kate Hudson will be taking over duties this time around.

The second season moves onto a “new case”, telling an entirely different story than Season 1:

Poppy Parnell (Octavia Spencer) has a new case she would like you to reconsider when her childhood friend and media mogul Micah Keith (Kate Hudson) finds herself embroiled in tragedy and scandal. Poppy seeks to help Micah, pursuing justice on her very public and popular podcast, but at what personal and professional cost to Micah and her media empire?
